I'm in California for the summer, and I think the heat is making my hair dry and it now knots easily. Help?

If you know any good products, please put them here =)

In Australia when summer hits my hair gets all dry and annoying as well. Try this: after washing, put a small amount of conditioner in your hair and leave it in. Do that several times a day as it keeps it soft and moisturised. Also, make sure you drink a lot more water too. Lately I've found Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine smoothing serum works wonders on my hair but more so on my daughter's hair as she has very fine curly long hair. I hope this helps :)

Your hair drying out may not be from the sun or the water. First hair knots and drys due to the cuticle layer of hair is damaged. Some causes could be diet, if you are on a high protein diet, the protein will cause your hair to become dry and brittle, in turn knot up after shampooing. Try an old fashion formula to close down the cuticle layer of your hair.
1/8 cup of white vingar
1 cup of distilled water
shampoo hair and the use the mixture from above to rinse your hair. Towel dry and then apply a leave in condition. You can go to sallys and get a product call infusium 23, put it in a spray bottle and this will get your hair back to normal within a few days if not over night. When spraying the leave-in besure to not oversaturate your hair.

Try shampoos and conditioners specific for dry hair, I suggest Garnier Fructis. Also hair moisturizers which you can put in just before conditioners or on dry hair.

Redken's All Soft Shampoo + Conditioner, and always use a leave-in conditioner( I like Infussium 23). Don't use heat on your hair unless you have to.

You might have to try a new shampoo, like Garnier Fructis, I use that for dry and frizzy hair. Just search at a Wal-Mart or something.

if you have a sally beauty supply store near you get ion deep conditioners. they are in lil packs - white w/pink writting.
it's like a supppper deep conditioner that really makes your hair nice. i used them when i lived in cali.
they are about a buck each.
also make sure you use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush to get the tangles out after you shower.
brushing it pulls and weakens hair causing frizzies.
also try v05 hot oil treatments. they work too

Go to Sally's and ask for a Really good moisturising conditioner. I used to use Finnesse and my hair was down to my waist, and it was always in good condition.

P.S, i did not discontinue use of Finnesse being a bad conditioner, simply because I didn't need conditioner.
