Please don't listen to the crap people say about Wicca. Wicca is a peaceful religion that reveres nature, believes in a god and a goddess (though the persons interpretation of the god and goddess is up to the Wiccan) who are neither evil nor good, and are just like everyone else.
Some Wiccans cast spells but not all. And not a single one of them would ever cast a hurtful spell on another person. Its against the laws of the Wiccan religion... the first law is Harm None, the second law is whatever you do comes back to you threefold (meaning three times as strong).
If she's scarey to you, then its something personal with her, not with the fact that she's a Wiccan.

Sorry to be the one to tell you, but that girl is not a true Wiccan, only a foolish middle/high school student. If she knew anything about Wicca, she would know that you NEVER hex/curse/cast evil spells on ANYONE, regardless of how angry or upset you are. She is simply trying to get attention. She may believe, but she is taking it way too far. All I'm saying is that you shouldn't look to her as an example of the Wiccan faith. If she invited you to a meeting, consider going. If nothing, it's a new experience. You don't have to believe, all they'll think is how open-minded you are. The people there aren't going to hurt you or push any beliefs down your throat. In my opinion, she's in it for the wrong reasons. But the meeting should be fine if you want to learn more.
The entry in Wikipedia actually has a lot of information, and you should read all you can from books to learn what we're really about. See my sources. Thank you for being so open, it is much appreciated by the Wiccan community, I'm sure.
Blessed Be.

If she really is Wiccan then she doesn't put spells on others without their permission, and even then it is probably only healing magic. We believe that whatever energy you put forth in the Universe (and to others) is returned to you... three fold. So to try to harm another is not only bad for them but very bad for you.
Wicca is an Earth based religion, which means we are not based on the teachings of Abraham, i.e. Christianity, Muslim, or Hebrew. This does not mean we are evil nor that we don't have values. We believe that we are a part of the Divine, each and everyone of us, and that we do not serve the Divine but work with the Divine to make the world a better place. We believe that we are a part of Nature and not removed from it. We believe in reincarnation and Karma. We do not "worship" per say, our faith is more about celebrating then bending our knee in servitude. If you do want to learn more about Wicca I would suggest reading "The Truth About Witchcraft Today" by Scott Cunningham, this book explains Wicca in easy terms and doesn't "preach".

Wicca is a modern Pagan religion, and true Wiccan's live by the Wiccan Rede: "An it harm none, do as thou will". There are several different paths of Wicca, each similar but still varying in their beliefs. Many, but not all, Wiccans practice magick or witchcraft, but true Wiccans would never attempt to use it against another person. They don't put spells on people, and you shouldn't believe any of the rumors people say about her.
If you really want to know more, just ask her to tell you. If you don't want to go to one of their "get togethers", then you can simply tell her that you'd rather not to, but that you'd still like for her to tell you about it.
There are, however, those who claim to be Wiccan but are only in it for the wrong reasons. They generally don't bother learning much about the religion, and most likely won't be able to tell you much.

First, Wicca is a religion. When someone follows Wicca, they are called Wiccan. Just like when someone follows christianity they are called Christian.
Second, Wicca is a fairly peaceful religion. The basic tenet of Wicca is 'An it harm none, do as ye will.' While she probably shouldn't be casting spells on people without their permission, if she truly follows Wicca she should not harm them.
Third, it might be that she really doesn't know very much about Wicca. Even among people that call themselves Wiccan, there is a lot of misinformation about what Wicca actually is.
Fourth, here are some websites that can help explain
Wicca. As I said, she might not really be Wiccan. But if she is, this could give you some insight into what she believes.

http://www.witchvox.com/
Fifth, all Wiccans follow the Wiccan Rede. It is the basis of their faith.

In the true sense it is a form of planetary worship, in other words Gaia, the Earth Mother. Wicca does not cast spells. There is a difference between Wicca and Witchcraft. Wicca celebrates creation in general. Wicca is probably more closely compared to Native American beliefs than anything else than we can parallel it to. Everything in nature has a spirit. A rock is not simply a rock, the rock is the spirit of all rocks, in other words the rock has an identity or being. Likewise a deer or any deer has the spirit of the deer so if you kill a deer for food, you give thanks to the spirit of the deer for transferring that life-force from the deer to you. The root of all those "spirits" is the creative force which actually encompasses both genders.

People fear and make fun of that which they don't understand we are on the internet so go ahead and research it. Another thing never believe stories people will say anything about a person to have them feared so people stay away from them. Maybe you should talk to her about Wicca she might be able to explain a few things but then again i have no idea what grade you are in so it may be a waste of time she might not know anything about it and might just say it because she got it off a movie or something.

If she is Wiccan then you have nothing to be concerned about. Wiccans follow a code that say that they can do no harm to anyone. All witches belive in the three fold law which says that whatever spells you cast will come back to you 3 times as bad.
And besides all that, its probably just alot of gossip. Maybe you should just try talking to her.

First, any true Wiccan will tell you that "putting spells" on someone is all non-Wiccan mumbo-jumbo, and here is why. Wiccans follow the idea of "An Ye Harm None, Do As Ye Will." Meaning as long as your actions don't harm another or yourself in any way, you are free to do as you wish. Free will is a very important concept in Wicca. Putting spells on someone robs them of their free will and thus violates the "Harm None" ideal of Wicca.
Second, to continue on with that, the idea of Karma is one of the underlying dogmas of Wicca. What you do will in some way come back to you. Do good things and good things will happen to you. Do bad things and bad things will happen to you. Wish harm upon another and harm will come to you.
Third, spells are nothing but sending-out positive intent and putting attention on what you desire so that it manifests (as long as it harms none). In other religions this is known as prayer, where you ask deity for something and thank them for it beforehand and when it happens, whether it is keeping a loved one safe from harm or helping you find the right home or job when you are confused or discouraged.
Here is Wicca in a nutshell for you:
Wicca is a contemporary Pagan religion with spiritual roots in the earliest expressions of reverence of nature as a manifestation of the divine. Wicca views Deity as Goddess and God; thus it is polytheistic. It also embraces the practice of magick and reincarnation. Religious festivals are held in observance of the Full Moon and other astronomical and agricultural phenomena.
In Wicca:
•Both the Goddess and God are revered. One cannot exist without the other. All life depends on this duality, male/female, night/day, summer/winter, etc.
•Human souls enjoy a series of incarnations in human form (reincarnation).
•Power can be sent in non-physical form to affect positive change and the world in positive ways (others know this as prayer).
•What is done will be returned to the doer (Karma or as Christians know it: the bread you cast upon the water...).
•The Earth is our home, our Goddess which gives life (like a mother gives life to a child). It is not a tool we can abuse or it will not give life.
•Wiccans are not evangelical. We have no need to go out and "spread the word". We feel if our path is right for someone, they will find us. We don't have to convince anyone to join us.
•Wicca accepts that EVERY religion is correct to its adherents.
•Wicca accepts members from both sexes, from every race, national origin, and of every sexual preference. There is no discrimination in Wicca.
•Wicca is a religion, not a political organization. Wicca as a whole does not preach issues or endorse political candidates.
•Wicca doesn't ask for donations or tithing.
I hope that helped a little bit.

If she is indeed Wiccan I seriously doubt she is putting spells on people. Wiccans kinda look down on that.
Seriously though, and this is not meant to offend you, but teenagers especially find things and people who are different threatening. At that age fitting in is everything and someone who doesn't fit in, for whatever reason, is viewed as a threat by insecure people who resort to putting them down in an effort to make themselves feel better. Those stories are probaly rumors perpetuated by typical teenage cattiness. I would take those stories with a grain of salt.
Especially the stories about her casting spells on people. Wiccans just don't do that. Wicca is a nature-affirming faith whose practicioners worship Divinity in the form of male and female dualities (a God and a Goddess) and celebrate the cycles of the seasons. Not every Wiccan practices magic but those who do generally only do things such as healing spells and such.
