Christianity is a faith that is often confused. Most people think of christians as people who are hippocrits and read and pray every freakin hour. Christianity isn't really like or that is not the way God intended it to be. Christianity is a faith that Jesus Christ started, it's supposed to be accepting to anyone, not hippocrical, and to be a good Christian you don't always have to be thinking about god or reading your bible all the time. Don't believe in some of the crap people say about church, the church i go to accpets anyone no matter who they are even if they're a homosexual. Christianity is something that has made my life seem more worth wild and it helped me get over a huge struggle of depression and suicidal thoughts. All you have to do is meet the right type of Christians to see how cool the faith is.

Pretty safe to say it's an accepted belief system.

Most people in our country believe in God, or at least in a supreme being.

Studies among Americans have shown:

* 86 percent believe in God or a supreme being
* 75 percent believe in life after death
* 86 percent believe in heaven
* 77 percent believe in hell
* 69 percent believe in a God described as the "all-powerful, all-knowing, perfect Creator of the universe who rules the world today."
* Almost nine out of 10 people (87 percent) say the universe was originally created by God.
* Only 9 percent of Americans profess no religion at all.
* More then 80 percent—including 71 percent of college graduates—believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God.
* 34 percent believe the Bible is the actual word of God to be taken literally, word for word.
* And most Americans still to this day say they are Christians, with numbers ranging from 77 percent to 86 percent.

when you think of Christianity the first thing that come to mind is Catholics.. funny how they seem to run the whole Christianity thing...I'm a christian and yet catholics think that the religion that i grew up in is considered a Cult. Yet the only thing i have been taught is to follow the word of Christ and live by it...kinda makes you wonder who gave them all the power

To tell you the truth it makes me sick to be a Christian
seeing those other churches attack judge and condemn
other people that are not like them
Yes some people are different and what the hell is wrong
with just being yourself and who you are
without some fruitcake getting in your face about it

Christianity started as a small cult during the Roman Empire, and it grew for lots of reasons (mostly its crossover appeal to pagans, since most of its miracles were taken from pagan stories; its missionary emphasis also played a role).

It might originally have been a branch of Jewish reformism, but Paul of Tarsus changed that when he wrote basically the entire religion himself. Other religious writings came later.

Interestingly, Paul seemed to have little notion of Jesus as a physically resurrected savior type, instead portraying him as a spiritual being who saved through his novel theology. Jesus's humanity came largely through much later works.

An interesting recent hypothesis I read was that Mark, the first Gospel, was an allegory about the destruction of the Jewish temple. All other accounts of Jesus's life were either derived from Mark or else written much, much later (and thus also sort of derived from Mark).

i believe Christianity is not a religion. it's a relationship God is trying to establish with man and not the other way around (that's religion). it's a way of live. i LOVE the way i live my life. there are some extremists and fanatical people that can give us a bad name. but that' the world. i love everybody in Christ and i pray for them. there are people in the world that don't agree with whom i praise but that doesn't bother me. i don't answer to them. i only answer to God.

I think it's amazing!
Jesus Christ walked this Earth 2,000 years ago, and Christianity is as strong as ever.
The Bible said that not many noble, or wise as far as this world is concerned will be called.
