Every religious sect would loooove to be the one & only...can you just imagine the power of such!!! Just like every governing system would love to be the same. However, diversity & choice are the mainstays of humanity, and so each privy of dogma creates their way to attract the followers that will support them.
Unfortunately, religion is very limiting...spiritually speaking...they do not seek truth, but create their own "beliefs", usually based on a single conglomeration of writings, of which each cult has their own interpretations. Spirituality, on the other hand, encourages one to seek truth...usually from within Self, since this is your direct-connect to the Godhead (of which their are two, by the way, not one), and each individual has the free-will choice to possess their truths as they come, which could be from anywhere, everywhere, anytime...See???

Hi Jason J,
Let me explain it in a way u can relate. The one & only purpose of religion is to get us CLOSER TO GOD. There are different ways of doing that but i always believed 'THAT RELIGION WHICH MADE U A BETTER PERSON IS THE RIGHT RELIGION FOR U". Some of the rituals practiced now have been amended through centuries & generations (mostly to suit those who sits there in power) that we really don't know what was the original rite all along. It's like this, TO REACH MY DESTINATION (TO REACH GOD), i can take any vehicle i want to & there are plenty, the TOYOTAs, the NISSANS, the BMWs, the MERCEDES, the Hyundai..but because people are so engrossed in insisting that theirs is only the right vehicle..quarrels/conflicts arise. Heck, i can reach my destinations by simply walking. U see what i mean? just follow ur heart. That which give u all the answers to ur question is the religion fitted for ur ever evolving soul.

All Christians are a part of the Holy Catholic church. Which is not to be confused with the Roman Catholic church.
(Google: Holy Catholic church) Rituals are just that, customary practices. The message of salvation by divine intersession is the same for us all. Different people have need of different accomodation in worship. In the end we are all saved by grace. Like children that grow up in the same family, but have different needs. God provides for each need through divine interpretation of the scriptures. We follow him, though, and not religion. Religion is visiting the sick and providing for the poor. If you do that, you've got religion.
Look at it this way, we are all human beings living in the same country, for instance, but the traditions in our homes vary.

there is a lot of conflict between religions in my opinion because ach religion believes that they are the only religion that is right and what all the other religions are doing is wrong...take christianity for instance..its one religionthat definitely thinks all other religions are wrong..and they believe all people that practice other religions are going to hell..even if they do belive in the same God they think that the people that worship God in any way other than theirs are just wrong and going to be punished for it when it comes time for their judgement..even within the different affiliations of christianity..maybe baptists dont think the catholics do it right or the catholics dont like the protestants..there is really no way to describe why religions are the way they are..they just are

We are different in what we blieve in (sometimes) from one God. Some believe in Muhammad, others believe in Jesus, others don't believe in Jesus. We are on the same guidline we just have small diferences. but if you're really involved in the religion they deeply believe in it and get offended with other religions beliefs. Theres a lot of different beliefs out there.

If you're talking about christianity then here's what you need to know. The Christian faith all has the same basic princables no matter if you're catholic, baptist, jahova wittness, omish, or what ever. Those things are that Jesus is god son and that he came down to earth, and who ever believes in him will go to heaven, and that one day Jesus will come back to Earth and then the apocolis will occur. Christiaity was split up into different forms and views after the middle ages because people intrepted the bible differently.

Because they are not all the same god. Someone can argue that my God is the same as the one muslims worship, but how can that be when my God tells me killing is a sin, and some muslims believe that the only way to salvation is by killing infidels?
Therefore, not all gods are the same. If you died today, which god will you have to answer to? As for me, my god is God and my Lord is Jesus Christ.

Religions don't take you to God in any way, in fact I think religion drives you away from God! Don't take it wrong, but in my opinion religion stinks. Faith on the other hand is more efficacious since it comes only from God.

You know I had a long conversation with a chaplain one day and asked that same question. I asked him about monotheism and polytheism. His answer was simple. He told me that there is only one right religion. Apparently his was the right one. According to him everyone else was going to hell. Needless to say I thought he was full of it.
