In Deathly Hallows a mother saves her son and says the B-word and on GameFAQ's that was fine yet when I said Thank God (on a topic I am glad did not happen) I am banned. What are your thoughts on the ter Thank God? My view is at times it is in vain example: streessed day Thank God the day is over. :-( Good way: Thank God that wreck didn't kill me,family member survived an accident or even in my case Thank God one of those spoilers I read were fake. :-)

i don't think it is.
but some ppl don't like to use the term "God" unless it's regarding religious things.
they could've banned you b/c they didn't want any religious controversies to occur..
since some ppl can be close-minded at times

I think if you say "Thank God" and you are really thanking Him, even if not in a direct prayer but just saying it out loud and happy about the situation, that's not taking His name in vain. But if you say it with negative words with it, like "Thank God that stupid idiot got fired", that's a curse using His name in vain. And it's a sin using His name while having sex. Because you are definitely not thanking Him at that point.
Why you were banned, I don't know. You'd have to check what their guidelines are. But the B word is definitely a swear word.

Language can never be offensive in of itself, it is only the intention behind the words that can be offensive. This is something that is sadly very misunderstood with censors and censorship.
Spreading hate with simple ordinary 'acceptible' words is much worse than the innocent use of words that people are afraid of. Thank God there are some people who still get it.

Within or without a game, book or TV show. Using the Lord's name in any way other than to honor him or to praise him is Swearing. No if and or buts.

Nope .. Thank God is thanking God, so no. The swearing version IMO is when you blame God for something negative that happens.

Not necessarily bad, but then again it could be construed as using the Lord's name in vain...violating the 2nd Commandment.

I can see where you'd say thank God for not getting killed....otherwise...your other examples...I'd have to say it sounds like His name is being used in a bad way.

Thank God. Hmm . . . didn't feel like a swear word to me. But if you're right, the Amish are in big trouble.
