I have been fighting with wingworms on my little girl for about 3 months now. I took her to the pedi and they gave me cream and antibiotics by mouth. THEY ARE ONLY ON HER BUTT AND TOP BACK PART OF LEGS. I do not understand why they want go away- I keep a VERY clean house and no pets! Any suggestions anyone? If you plan on leaving some rude inmature comment then DONT waste your time! Thanks everyone else!

Bmac is right on the money. It's called ringworm, but it's just a fungal infection. No animals involved here. OTC Lotrimin. That's what you need buy it and use it. It works.

In addition to anti-fungal creams, make sure you do not aggravate the problem by drying out the skin by washing the infected areas with soap. Use a gentle cleanser like Dove or Nutrogena. Also, if there's any way to reduce moisture in the infected areas- that would help. If she still needs diapers, try to minimize the amount of time she spends in the diapers, or maybe cut a few slits into the plastic high up on the diaper so it can release moisture.

Ringworm?

Ringworm is a fungus and you need an anti-fungal to treat it. Antibiotics won't do anything for it unless there is a bacterial infection in the ringworm site.

Go to the store and get some Lotrimin. Yes, it's usually for "jock itch" and athlete's foot, but it IS an anti-fungal and WILL treat ringworm. HONEST!
