I've never been fond of scouting by reason of the person who ran it wehn I was a little boy but I know some lovely people who were into Rovers when I met them and by all accounts scouting never did them any harm.... I think you can reach that eagle scout goal you have there.. it will surely be worth the effort trying to, just the same.
As a 14 year old, turning 15 in April, you could be far worse off not trying to achieve something you are passionate about. Also, there are plenty of opportunities to chase girls after scouts.. (and before for that matter) so those fool-hardy people who would rather spend their time out window shopping down at the mall are worse off for the lack of trying to achieve something important to them.
Go get 'em leader badges.

Hello mcballer:
Yes, you can be an Eagle Scout, as you have over three and a half years to earn the award. You are well on your way, your largest hurdle will be planning and executing your Eagle Scout project. Once you pass the board of review for Life, get a copy of the Eagle Scout packet from your advancement chair, District Eagle Adviser, or Council service center. It will outline the steps to ensure that you are properly recognized for your achievement, and that you have all of the proper forms, certificates, and merit badges for Eagle. Some districts have restrictions on what the Eagle project can and can't be done, so make a list of things you would like to do for your project. Do some research and look around your community to see what needs a good project will fill.
Keep on Scoutin'

You are in GREAT shape to get your Eagle! No worries, just enjoy the journey. You only NEED 21 badges in order to receive your Eagle, so you have time to attend workshops, camps next summer, etc., and earn more. Most Councils also provide badge workshops, especially for the required badges, so keep up with those and get those out of the way when you can. Lots of people tend to think that once you've gotten your Eagle, you're finished with Scouts -- you can choose to do that, of course, but as an Eagle Scout, you have a lot of cool options and perks available to you that other Scouts don't. You would not BELIEVE how many guys are finishing up requirements the day before their 18th birthday -- you've got 3 years, relax, but stay focused. My son got his Eagle at 17, and earned 3 palms afterwards, so there's still lots of time.
And re: those nitwit posters who were making fun of you -- forget them. They don't know a good thing when they see it :-) They really don't sound much like girls you'd want to get to know, anyway.

You can become an Eagle Scout. The rule say that you must hold a position of leadership for 6 months while being that rank. If you are a Star Scout you only need 6 months. if you go over the six months that is great but you can not use that time for the next rank.
Sincerley yours in Scouting

Hey, Boy Scouts is cool, the people who dis it have no idea what kinda stuff we do (shotgun, sailing, archery). I'm 15 and have my Eagle. It sounds like yer well on your way to getting yours. you can get credit towards your ranks by being an SPL, Patrol Leader or any other leadership positions, so you shouldn't have to worry. If you can get your Eagle before High School it will help a lot, once you hit HS you don't have as much time for Scouts.
Keep working on those merit badges, and good luck.

Age cut off to APPLY for Eagle is your 18th birthday. You have lots of time.
The Service Project is the big problem for most guys. Start thinking about it and talking ot people about it.
You are MAYBE a little behind in Merit Badges, get moving on that as well.
Leadership- you've got time. Run for PL, SPL, or maybe even JASM. When I was SM, I did not allow 'instructor' to count for leadership for Eagle unless the person planned the classes and ran them demonstrating true leadership over a period of time- not just one class every so often.
Good luck!

mc,
Reading a couple of responses it would appear that some folks feel that you are a big, fat LOSER if you don't hang around with the young ladies in your environment. My advice: do what you want - be happy - be productive - enjoy this earth your way, not someone else's.
Good luck!
