Infidels were to blame for approximately ZERO of the total attacks, carnage and aftermath.

Why should there even need to be a study or a technical scholarly opinion about the matter?

I mean, when people have to quote clerics' opinions (ominously hedged by "most scholars," implying there are some who disagree) on blowing up innocent people, doesn't this tell you that people are putting *way* too much trust in a potentially violent system?

And look what happens when those clerics *do* advocate violence: honor killings, women being executed for the "crime" of being raped, women being mistreated for not covering themselves from head to foot (or being blamed for sexual assault because of that), plus, um, bombings and such (because many of these clerics DO say that bombings are moral).
