Why is it O.K for someone to openly say that they are against Christianity, but it is not O.K (or at least causes trouble) when someone tries to express Christianity, like disagreeing with homosexuality?

Good question! Please brace yourself for the backlash that is sure to come.

God bless. Stand strong.

It's okay to express Christianity if you don't get too arrogant in doing so or talk too much to the point of annoying others. About your disagreeing with homosexual, I'm not one either but I respect them as another God's creation. Its true that in Leviticus 20 God said to put them to death, so is Deut 21 where God said to stone to death if we happen to have a stubborn and rebellious son. Those people didn't learn how to be a homosexual, they were born and happen to be one, if we need someone to blame, its the creator who must have messed up with some of this creations.

When you disagree with a Christian in a general sense it usually ends up with a crusade and a lot of dead people. On the other hand be great full Homosexuals don't start a crusade against Christians.

Having my beginning as a Baptist, and living with constant bigotry and their vitriolic Judgement of the world, I studied religion.

My conclusion as a student of history is all three great religions (Judaism, Islam and Christianity) are barbaric. The dead of history can testify to this statement. The Judaic God's genesis is from the ancient Judaic God of war. All three have lived up to this model. Jesus said turn the other cheek, but Christians have even ignored this plea. Jesus was a great prophet, and his name should not be associated with the Christian faith. Bring on the thumbs down ! Truth is always a test of fath that most fail.

It would be difficult for someone to disagree with the concept of "Love thy neighbor" and treat others as you would like to be treated. The problem that many have with Christianity is the "in your face" attitude of some Christians. From the homoesexuals point of view, many Christians are trying to deny them rights. That is something many would have a problem with.

It is one thing to say that you are Christian, quite another to start passing judgement (and limiting the legal rights of) others in the name of your religion.

It's like if I said, I am against Christianity and I don't think they should be allowed to get married. That's quite a bit different than saying I don't believe in the Christian god or that I don't agree with Christianity.

I think Christianity in the abstract is wonderful...what I have a problem with are Christianity's adherents. In my experience on this site, at least half of the Christians are mean, overconfident and supercilious about who they are and what they believe. If you are called to spread the Gospel, then why do so many of you use threats and try to intimidate non-Christians? I'm Jewish and that is my experience....and I've been Jewish for 59 years and have had lots of experience.

Christianity is a choice, homosexuality isn't. You choose your religion you do not choose your sexuality. Whether you "agree" with homosexuality or not it is a perfectly normal part of human sexuality and has been around a lot longer than any religion. Religions have a responsibility towards people and cannot cut off part of a society without being subject to criticism.

You practice your religion any way you want to but the moment you try making out that your religion is better than others or that your religion allows you to vilify normal human beings, then I will criticise your religion.

Who says? I see Christians expressing what they believe all the time. Most of the time people don't give them any trouble. I just don't agree with them. Oh I know, such trouble for me to go against what they believe. How dare I.

This is because we live in a "tolerant" society, and the only thing that is not allowed is intolerance. Christianity is intolerant of sin, so expressing Christian opinions is intolerant, therefore wrong or more ironically, not to be tolerated.

Shouldn't be surprised, it's not like the Bible suggests that being Christian is supposed to make one (or one's Christian perspective) popular.

Welcome to the world of diversity, and brainwashing.
Its called politically correct.

This sadly is the state of our union...and your right on target!
This nation has the notion of suing. So anything goes, and everyones views if not with the main stream are wrong.
Media control and corp control and lawsuits are jumping.
Ask the ACLU, they are on the band wagon of law suits against anything Christian.

Because most Christians have that 'Holier Than Thou' attitude, and they tend to push religion on you when you've clearly stated you aren't interested. and btw, what are your reasons for not supporting gays? I can't seem to find a person that can tell me where in the bible it says that God doesn't support gays. I thought God loved everyone? apparently not >< Christians need to work on these inconsistencies.

oh and. You are a bit of a hypocrite. Me disagreeing with Christianity is like you disagreeing with gays. Why is it when I try to express me support for gays, you Christians tend to shoot me down? exactly.
