i'm moving to canada already actually.

no, i would not die for this country. it's corrupted. now, if our country actually adhered to the principles it claims and was founded upon, then i would glady die to defend those principles. however, america does NOT adhere to these, so there's really nothing to die for.

Only on three conditions:

1: I knew that my sacrafice would directly aid in allowing my country to survive and I would have a huge memorial.

2: It was a quick and painless death.

3: I had said an incredible quote that was quick witty and possibly hilarious in it's own way before I died. This quote would circulate the world and be as famous as "how did the chicken cross the road?"

I know that no one likes those jokes, but everyone in the United States of America knows them.

I used to be military. I've been shot at a couple of times. My goal was never to die, but I wasn't going to be a coward either. If the US goes, Canada will be close behind.

I really don't know what I'd do. I'd like to say I would gladly die for what we believe in (i.e. freedom) so that others could live on with that luxury. But part of me is very selfish, and would not be willing to sacrifice myself for the benefit of others. Guess that's why my husband joined the service, and I didn't.

I would die for my family or my friends, but not really for America. But Canada is cold. Can I move to Australia instead?

Wilfred Owen
Dulce Et Decorum Est

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of disappointed shells that dropped behind.

GAS! Gas! Quick, boys!-- An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling
And floundering like a man in fire or lime.--
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,--
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.

I wouldn't die for America, I would rather die for Christ. How about that. I am totally serious. I love America but wouldn't die for her. America has sinned so bad. America was founded by Christian people and had Christian principles. We as Americans have changed our principles.
