Actually, true Christianity teaches peace. Ghandi said he would become a Christian if he met a true Christian but he never did. It is a real shame though. Many Christians become institutionalized and intolerant. But at the same time, humans suffer from conditions called pride and greed and selfishness and these lead to atrocities committed in the name of religion, be it Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Shintoism, Animism, and other isms. I used to think like you but have found looking at a divine being (for me Jesus) instead of humanity makes all the difference.

i think you have it wrong, theres so many types of peace its not even funny, ironically religion isn't the one which is holding it back, its culture that is. Man made culture and the way of doing things like capitalism, communism, socialism, or whatever. Thats whats preventing peace and power hungry elite groups that love war. Look at the wars in the 1900's and you see that religion really wasn't the backbone, hence people who are true christians, hindu, jewish, or even islamic mostly condemn killing and forcing their religions on otheres. Most of the dictators and leaders are in fact athiests. in no way im i saying all athiests are blood thirsty killers, im just saying alot of christians ( but athiest by heart ) are the ones who stir up wars.

It can't and never will be attained and it has nothing to do with the battles of religions. But I wrote a page on World Peace and I wish to share it with you... It explains it all.

Actually, it isn't religion itself that pits us against each other...it is the actions of men that usually utilize religion as a form of control. As long as the spirit of any religion is taken out of context then of course there can be violence. But religion isn't the only source of violence, it is the behavior of those that have yet to learn to actually believe and hence learn to behave.

actual religion doesn't put us against one another, it is the misinterpretations and misconstrued ideas man puts on the word of God that puts us against each other. When one understand the actual meaning of Religion and essence they can understand the the soul is on a path of evolutions (not Darwin's theory) but from life to life we are evolving spiritually until we finally come to our highest true self realization. which means understanding our eternal relationship with God in full. (seeing God face to face) which you can no doubt, but that is for the very sincere rare souls. Krishna says in the Gita Whenever their is a decline in religious principles and the truth appears to be lost, I appear again and again or send my representative to reestablish the truth." So that is why so many religions. Man keeps changing the understanding of the word of God so God has to send another Pure Saint to reestablish the truth." Peace to all. Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. Different names for the same one true God.

Hello TwinsMa:

There will never be peace in this present world. Jesus said there would be wars and rumors of war, perplexity of nation; men's hearts failing them for fear; a time of trouble since there was a nation.

And then, after Rome is destroyed during the fifth plague of Revelation 16, then there will be a reprieve under Antichrist--then Armageddon.

So, don't put your faith in charismatic beaureaucrats because they search for solutions, but there is one--Jesus is the only answer.

There are two major problems. One is revealed in a Bible code: see http://abiblecode.tripod.com

The other is the culprit of Armageddon. Select www.revelado.org/islam.htm

God said that he would put "enmity" (hatred) between good and evil. The two can never exist together peacefully. so there are two options that will never happen; either we all follow God, or we all become evil. And if all become evil, there won't be peace anyway, so give up your dream of having global peace on this earth.

the original religion themselves were meant to do that, but once radicals managed to twist the words of the true meaning of that religion, it became a pass for violence.

even Buddhism, which (by what I've heard) excepts and allows all holidays and religion has radicals that have stained it with violence.

I figure it is logical to destroy the offending party, which is a small sector of humanity. This is most obviously Muslims. I see no harm nor fowl in cutting away a diseased part of humankind in order to benefit the whole.

Jesus didn't come to bring Peace..He came to bring the sword of truth....he wants you to believe the truth, even though your atheist husband or daughter do not believe..that is what is meant by these scriptures. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers or they may cause you to stray from the truth.

Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." (Matthew 10:34-39 NASB)
