Am I missing something here? What is this obsession with bran muffins? Is there some other definition other than those rather tasteless muffins served to people who need more fiber in their diet? You'll have to excuse me, as people of my generation probably don't know what you're talking about.

Maybe it is a regional preference, but I was taught that they should be served with a good bran mash whiskey. That is considered true southern hospitality.
