i don't believe in sin.

i believe that your life is yours and yours alone. if you want to kill yourself, that's your choice.

this doesn't mean i'm all for suicide. on the contrary, for those suffering emotional pain, i'm all for getting counseling and trying to show people the beauty of life and hope they change their minds. however if it's like some 80 year old who's dying painfully of some horrible disease, then they have every right to end their life and i would whole-heartedly support that decision.

but i certainly don't think, that after losing someone, we shouldn't all sit around judging their choices and claim they're going to hell or wherever. people who commit suicide are in very very deep pain. they've reached the end of their rope. it's not like they're lazy people who go "man, life is hard. i guess i'll just kill myself instead." trust me. it's months, maybe even years of struggling between do i die or do i live. it's a painful decision and those who do it are in horrible pain (whether physical or emotional). what right do we have to judge someone who is only looking for an escape from that pain? and suicide is never the first thought someone has. it's not a cop-out. it's a last choice kind of decision. if you've never been there, you don't know what it's like and you have NO place to judge.

I believe that you have to look deeper. If a person knows Christ, they will have hope, a purpose, and know the ultimate love He offers. When a person has those things, they won't commit suicide.

So for a suicidal person, it doesn't matter if it is a sin or not, because all that matters in the end is whether you know Christ or not.

If a person decides to take their own life, they are in essence saying that life is too hard, I'll never get through this pain. That is not trusting God when He tells us that He works all things for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes. Not trusting God is a sin.

I've already lost some who were close to me to suicide, so this is tough. To me, it's a choice. It's not the choice I would choose, or want anyone else to choose. If there is a higher power, I think he/she/it/they know what is going on in that person's life and takes it into consideration. I think the mind is clouded during times of great trouble, and those people forget there are those of us who care for them, are willing to help in anyway, and miss them when they pass on. I don't believe in "sin," and I won't judge (because I certainly don't always make the best choices in life.) Unfortunately, the choice they make is final.

Blaspheme the holy spirit is the only unforgivable sin.
Matthew
28But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath commited adultery with her already in his heart.

so now suicide. If someone dies from suicide it is a sin.
But if someone tries to commit suicide but fails, and later asks for forgiveness then they are forgiven. The scripture above points out that just thinking of sin makes you guilty of that sin. So you are guilty of suicide if try to committ it or truly think about committing it.

Not a question of 'Sin'. That is a religious bs idea. Usually, suicide is a 'permanent solution to a temporary problem' and anyone contemplating it needs a friend to make them understand that.

yes. It is. I suppose that even thinking about it is a sin too, so I'm doomed. (I was really depressed when I was a teenager.) I hope that people realize that there are better things just around the corner, and death will definitely come to you eventually, as it comes to us all. This life is just a blink of the eye. Honestly, it is.

I think it depends upon one's circumstances...there could be many mitigating factors that could make this not a sin. If the person has a brain tumor and acted totally out of character, then this would be a forgivable act.

Each of us has the right to end out own life since we belong to no one but ourselves. If anyone wants to believe otherwise, that's their prerogative, but they shouldn't try to force their beliefs on others.

Your life belongs to God, not to you. For that reason only he can choose when to end life, meaning suicide is a horrible offense; although most suicidal people are mentally unbalanced which prevents them from clearly seeing a situation.

It is like giving up on God, on Christ. But worse by eliminating the chances all together of ever being redeemed.
