Did you buy this from Walmart? Before you blow more cash on another bike, bring your bike to a specialist bike shop and ask them to give it the once over. Those Walmart kids may not have put it together properly in the first place and the bike may not perform to it's potential.
But it you have the dosh and want a new bike, consider the Specialized FSR Stumpjumper.

What do you need the bike for? Mountain, road, or commuting?
How often do you ride?
Where do you ride?
What is your budget?
These are just a few questions a reputable bike shop will ask you before you even throw a leg over the saddle. Find a good bike shop, take your time and you will find a bike that you will like a lot more than your mongoose

it depends on what you want to do. if you want to go trail riding i suggest a hard tail with a 100 mm travel fork. you don't need to break the bank on your first bike. what you want to do is build your skills up then you can upgrade your bike. then if you want to try a full suspension i would recommend a giant reign.
