I believe God knew they would eat of the tree. I guess if they didn't they would've never left the garden and there wouldn't be a mankind.

If Eve hadn't eaten the forbidden fruit, of course things would have been different, unless Adam had gotten to it first! And things would be different now. Humans would still be living in a perfect world with no death or pain, Jesus would not have needed to come and die for our sins, and things would be generally fantastic.
Also, if you want to get nitpicky, the probablity of any of us as specific individuals existing had that not happened is slim to none, if you think about it... I mean, all of us are likely to have all sorts of odd arrangements in our ancestry that would not have happened in a perfect world. At least one of any given person's thousands of ancestors was probably born because of rape or some other unfortunate occurance. I guess all that doesn't really matter, but your question is definitely food for thought.

I am soooo tired of people insinuating that it was "eve's" fault. Read your bibles. The Lord placed Adam in the garden to tend and keep it. God placed the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and told "Adam" not to eat from it. Eve was not even created until the next chapter. So your question should read "If Adam had instructed his wife in the ways of the Lord, would things have turned out differently for humanity?" Not only did Adam not instruct Eve, he "knowingly" went ahead and ate of the apple when Eve gave it to him. Hmmm, the power of a woman?? More like total irresponsibility on Adam's part. But we are beyond the blame game now. It doesn't matter because Jesus Christ fixed it if we receive His redemption.

If Eve hadn't eaten the fruit, we would have no knowledge of right or wrong, good or evil. We would be no more than monkeys in the garden, slaves to our instincts.
The world might be paradise, but its beauty and potential would be lost on us.

2 possibilities - I don't think any of us would be here. If you notice, Adam and Eve didn't have children til after the fall. Maybe they never needed to reproduce because they had eternal life and perfection already.
But... God doesn't work on a plan B. Maybe He knew all this would happen and had the Jesus plan already in place from the get go, knowing we'd inevitably screw up and need to be saved.
Who knows, why deal in "what ifs"

If you read your Bible carefully, you will see nothing happen we Eve ate the fruit, it is when Adam ate the fruit, that all hell broke lose, because God gave Adam the command before He ever taken his rib and made Eve, so it truly is Adam's fault, he should have spoken up when the serpent was inticing Eve. And even when she was trying to explain what God say to the serpent, she didn't even tell it right.

the world as we know it would not exist.
if the fruit had not been eaten, they'd have continued living, intellectually, like animals, unquestioning, not having ever experienced that they are even capable of challenging God's will, indefinitely.
but the thing is, eating from the tree was inevitable. *EVENTUALLY* even without prompting, I think that their curiosity would have overwhelmed them, and they'd have eaten from it anyway, just to see what happened.

Certainly. The snake did us a favour. Poor old Adam and Eve would be still zombies getting prickles in their bottoms.
