If you are not keeping it neatly trimmed at the edges or the length from getting too long, it would be easy to see that you 'could' be letting yourself go. Maybe she doesn't want you to look like a slob...maybe you don't look good with extra facial hair..who knows her reasoning. If you like the way you look, it is your body and your choice. You should just ask her...if there is a specific reason she is so opposed to it, and if she would be interested in helping you maintain a 'nicer' look with facial hair if that is what you want.

some people like facial hair some do not ---- i have had a beard for 30 years now and would not get rid of it --- unless my lady asked me to ---- its not letting yourself go its a personal preference
