What makes you think it can't...I have never flown either but that doesn't mean I can't...I've just never tried. I could if I wanted to probably, I just don't want to.

My little cat tried a few months ago..he climbed up on the shed roof and jumped off on top of my little girl cat, Mesha...he could fly but that landing was a toughie...broke his foot and cost us $500...money can fly...it doesn't even wave bye bye when it leaves either...

Which bird?

The Penguin, whose excess fat prevents any possible flight, but enables the bird to swim swiftly through frigid waters and keeps their eggs from freezing so as to ensure the continuation of the species?

Or perhaps the Roadrunner, which I have never seen fly, but do run so fast they can both capture food quickly and escape predators?

Or perhaps the Emu and Ostrich whose long legs also distance themselves from predators while they fill essential ecological roles?

Chickens don't fly more than a few yards, but they sure do make excellent dinner protein (which I intelligently designed last night with a savory oriental orange sauce)?

Most birds fly south for the winter. If penguins are designed to live in a cold climate then there is no need for them to fly anywhere.

I don't know. Does the bird in question posses a mind blowing complex genetic structure, and seem to be well fit for it's natural environment? If so then the answer is yes.

No, it just means it evolved to suit its enviroment, like how Africans have darker skin and more melanin to help deflect the suns rays, or Eurpoeans having lighter skin because it wasn't as hot as Africa back then...or the different sub-species of wolves or dogs. It's just bio-diversity.

YES! If I were smart, I'd design a penguin for sure!

Well, they are quite entertaining, and I suppose a sense of humour is often compatible with intelligence.
