Minimum wage jobs (fast food, movie theatres, etc.) usually start hiring at 15. Some 14 year olds may be able to get a minimum wage job if they have relatives that own the company or are the store managers. Most jobs, even minimum wage ones, ask applicants to be at least 16. Jobs that pay over minimum wage ask you to be at least 18 or older, usually. Minimum wage right now is $5.25 an hour. But, in the near future, it will be raised to $6 per hour. Not sure when, though, sorry! A job that pays well over $5.25 an hour (say $8 or more) will most definitely ask that you have either: 1 year (at least) experience, can type 50 words per minute or more, have at least graduated from high school with a diploma or GED, or that you have a bachelor's degree from a university. Most places like that want experience, past work references, and a diploma. However, minimum wage jobs are easier to come by for younger people, but 14 is pretty young, even then. At 15, she may be able to get a minimum wage job at McDonald's or a similar place. But money is money, either way, and she should go for it. It won't hurt to put in an application now. =) Good luck!!

You usually have to 16 to work in a fast food restaurant. Sometimes farming jobs you can be younger. Have her go to local "mom and pop" restaurants, they will usually hire 14 and 15 year olds as dishwashers or bus people. Hope this helps. She could also go to the local library, deliver newspapers, or baby sit.

You can have a job before 16, but you also need a working permit. I got an internship when I was in highschool and needed to go to the school disctrict main office and get a work permit.

well sorry to say but in most cases the law says 16 and in some jobs its 18, you can work at most fast food resturants at the age of 14. hope this helps

There are many child actors working pretty young, some just days old.
