i need to know because I have a driver for a sound card my friend sold me and its for windows 98 se and I need to knoiw if i can run the driver on windows me. THX in advance!

thts where i got the driver, driverguide.coim but they dont have the one im looking for in Windows ME

There is no problem in using softwares designed for Windows 98 SE with Windows ME. The only thing that can happen is that it will not work and that is not likely.

On the other hand do not use a driver other than the one created for the operating System you are using. Doing so can harm the computer. Always install the drivers created for the Operating System you are using..

Best places to get drivers is from the manufacturer's web site of the device..

Yes. Drivers in Windows 98 began using the WDM, or "Windows Driver Model." Any driver that follows the driver model will work on subsequent operating systems (Windows Vista is just starting to phase them out). However, you cannot usually use a driver from a later operating system, like one from 2000 or XP on an earlier version. Windows ME was an exception; you could use ME drivers on 98.

So yes, the driver should work.

Umm....you can try on google like typing "driver Sound card name Model", or try using the driver from Windows 98 sinc
e sometimes it does work. :)

Most likely yes but honestly I would not waste my time with ME. its a complete disaster.
