Just so you all know humour is ok

Credit for the idea for this question goto Mr Ryan.

So what annoys you?

Is it people that think they are better than you because they have a camera they will never be able to get good pixs out of but cost them a second mortgage?

Is it people who pay the doctor and builder but want to steal copyright work?

I own a hammer but wouldnt attempt to build a house, so why are we all "pros?" - you know "im a pro and i use a canix D1/d/200D EXS DRW TRL, unless im outdoors in the sun my pictures dont look to great. i spend an hour in photoshop and they still dont look as good as that guy with the old film camera who reads exposure off his hand, whats that about?" etc etc do these people convince or annoy you or do you just pity them?

Go on vent yourselfs of frustrations, be free go forth and answer

People who type "LiiKE THiiS".

Haha, oh, you meant within the parameters of photography? Well...

People that rip everything about your photo apart, with nothing positive or reinforcing, while their own photography sucks.

People who post "How can I do selective coloring in my photographs?" in this section, when clearly it has been answered about 2893710298379127 times already.

People who think that everything will be a stunning shot if it's zoomed in to the point of unrecognition. And when others post baffled comments, claim it to be abstract!

People who tell you your picture is crap because you didn't follow the rule of thirds.

Mr. "Hey. I'm a pro and I say you suck because you're not!"

d5canon and PBIPA, I guess that's me.

I have almost 50 years of experience in photography and I don't count my start date until the year I started making my own prints in the darkroom, but I am not a professional photographer. Yes, I have taught others some of what I know and yes, I have accepted money for individual photographs and even full jobs (weddings, galleries) and yes, I have contributed to exhibits, but I have never once represented myself as a professional photographer. It even sort of bothers me that Flickr calls their site Flickr Pro if you want to upload the larger images as I really don't want anyone to think I am a professional. This does not mean that I don't know anything abot photography or that I can't offer some help or give constructive criticism. People who don't know their butt from their elbow answer in the dental section all the time and they can do some people real harm with their answers, but that's just part of how Yahoo! Answers works. At least I can't hurt anyone by answering questions on photography, because it's all just an opinion, isn't it? If they tried to credential all of their answerers before they could participate in a section, they'd have to pay you to do it.

If someone asks about something that can be gleaned from spec charts and nobody else has answered them, I don't feel too bad about that, but I never misrepresent myself as a hands-on expert with the equipment they are asking about. What I know, I know well, but I know what I know.

"For a dentist, my photography isn't bad," is how I represent myself. My "bio" and a link to my photos is in my profile, so anyone can read and look and judge for themselves.

A pet peeve of mine is people who answer a question totally wrong and do it with such an air of authority that nobody would doubt them. Oh wait. Is that me again?

Another pet peeve is when someone answers a question by totally ignoring the question. If someone asks which of two specific cameras you would recommend, don't say, "Forget about digital photography and get a film camera so you can suffer through the same torture as I did." I had at least 40 years using film before digital was on the market, so I appreciate film. In fact, I shot so much film that I pretty much didn't need to use a meter for exposure or printing. I just don't think that's what someone wants to hear when they ask if they should buy a Canon Rebel XTi or Nikon D80. That's the answer they get from some, though.

In spite of my seeming techno bend, I still believe that the equipment is secondary to the image and it bugs me when someone thinks that better equipment will make them a better photographer. Okay, it couldn't HURT, but it's not the final answer. In the "Real World," I try to avoid telling people what kind of equipment I use, but it is indeed the focus (pun intended) of much discussion here, so we have to talk in terms of equipment.

I am bothered by people who try to sell me something to solve a problem that I am not having.

~~~ ADD'L ~~~
Thanks for the question, Antoni. I like to have these sort of discussions here, even though it is cumbersome. We ARE a community, after all.
If you think this is passionate, you should see my (solicited) vent about the school system in our town that was published in today's paper!
People who say they've never taken a specific type of photo, or used the equipment being asked about, or tried the technique being asked about, then give lots of advice anyway, instead of just skipping the question.
If you earn in excess of 50% of your income from photography, you are a professional photographer. Otherwise you are not. People who talk and act like the are professionals but are not are what annoy me.
a couple words
snot, puss, boil(like the kind on the face), mucus
actions:
when people, your family namely, call you out of your room just to tell you to put away the peanut butter when they are standing right next to it.....when people avert their eyes at people who are suffering.....making loud abnoxious noises at a quiet moment...and tearing a book
