Belief is just an idea or concept one is willing to act upon. Faith for most is much like being a life long fan of some football team; but with promised eternal benefits.
All the religious structure, activity, tradition, and social interaction are just ideas built over time into a fabric; which holds people in the belief system. These can be changed in relatively short order; as it was in the past by the black death, the protestant reformation, war, etc., etc.
Additionally, world population is expected to grow by 2.5 billion to about 9.1 billion in just 43 years! Whatever religion manages to cover these new souls, and keep the old ones under wraps; they will just be more heathen then they are now, despite their affiliation.
So, I can not imagine it yet!
Prophecy says it will not happen. What prophecy speaks is increased numbers as the Protestants return to the Roman Catholic bed and blanket.
Of course this leads shortly to Armageddon; where you could project that more than 1.5 billion will be leaving the 'faith,' suddenly. I think it says the carnage will reach up to the bridles of the horses. About the same height as the headrest on a modern car. That's a lot of Catholics in a matter of days, not years!

Some non-Catholics can't understand that Catholics are intelligent enough to know the difference between the Catholic Church and a small number of pervert priests. They also predicted that donations would dry up, but "contributions to Peter's Pence -- individual donations to the pope and listed separately and in dollars -- rose sharply to $101 million from $73 million in 2005."

Absolutely absurd. I'd be interested to know what informed whoever told you that. The Catholic Church is losing members in the U.S., but it is gaining members in other countries. Just because it is losing members in the US, however, doesn't mean that they're all going to leave... yes, some are dissatisfied, but many others are not. This is a 2000 year old faith. If it ever died out, it would take hundreds of years.

If muslims institute shari'a law in every country that they inhabit (which is what they are actively seeking to do), then all faiths will need to practice in secret, not just catholicism.
I don't think this will happen in 10 or 20 years, or possibly even my lifetime.
But if we continue, to turn a blind eye, to the Muslim community and let them have free reign (I do fear it will happen), in say about 100 years.
Sad, how stupid humanity can be, when we call it racism and prejudism, when all we want to do is protect ourselves from the people openly threatening us....

I can imagine it if Islam is successful in its stated goal to institute Sharia Law in every country. There might still be Catholics then, but they'd have to practice Catholicism secretly or die.
Wow, that sounds just like what happened to the Jews for centuries under Catholicism doesn't it!
Talk about Karma, eh?

Hello,
That is about as much a reality as Muslims leaving their faith;
it is just not going to happen.
Cheers,

I really wish about 1.5 billion people would leave islam but I doubt we'll get that lucky. I can't imagine that many Christians, of all denominations combined, would stop believing.
God Bless.
