they all wear the same uniform as the navy

Yes, you will wear navy uniforms with an Eagle, Globe, and Anchor on one collar instead of the navy anchor. Your shoulder boards in summer whites will have an EGA on them. You won't be a Marine until you graduate OCS, and don't rate a Marine Corps uniform until you are commissioned.

If you are referring to Midshipman at the US Naval Academy then they all wear the same uniform. The difference is in the insignia. Navy wear the fouled anchor. Marine Corps options wear enlisted Eagle, Globe, and Anchors.

when i was aboard a ship,,, we wore our same Marine uniforms..

No they always were separate uniforms.
