I have a new Dell with Vista. I've had it since March. There are still bugs that need to be worked out. I have a good friend that works for Microsoft, and from what I hear, people are still having quite a few problems making the conversion on a computer running XP. If you're willing to put up with a few headaches, go for it. Good luck!

Probably not right at this moment, but there will be some games coming out that require DirectX 10, which is only found in Vista.
Plus, there are several security improvements that may make it worth it if you are extremely security-conscious ( though I suppose you might as well use Linux, then ).

not a chance a general rule of thumb is too never buy new Microsoft for at least year or more. this give Microsoft time to use the people who own vista a lab rats to find all the problem then release a butt load of patches

No. Wait for something better. Try one of the many Linux systems. They are free and work better. If you actually like MS-Windows, you will really like Ubuntu or Kubuntu, for example.

hey kevin, honestly im not too sure, but i would really be careful about downloading too much. even if your computer can handle it....sometimes you can download many similar programs that you dont need.

DO NOT GET VISTA.
I have it, and it is HORRIBLE.
it freezes up and shuts down on its own randomly.
it runs 15% slower than XP.

yes. There may be more security and stuff but, the pros are much better. You should see the media center.
