And if they do, doesn't that mean that animals have souls? And if you think that animals don't have emotions: it's very easy to differentiate between an angry dog and a dog who's being playful.

No, our emotions stem from the various parts of the brain that make up the limbic system.

Dogs have a limbic system in their brains, too. That's why they can feel anger, fear, and happiness.

Humans are mammalian animals. Dogs are too. All mammals have emotions, and their are probably more similarities of emotions across mammal species than their are differences.

I don't think any animals have souls, including humans. The concept of a "soul" was invented by people who didn't have an appreciation for the possibility that our minds could be purely the product of our brains.

Hi Truth-seeking Friend,

Most emotions are from your lower brain stem --they are thus sub-conscious to your higher mind. The highest "emotions" of love, kindness, tenderness, etc are actually from true spirit levels of abiding more closely with the pure spirit will of God within your mind and He (Jesus) the Spirit of Truth upon your soul and the Holy Spirit upon and within all levels.

I know about dogs also; we have had large dogs all of our life so far. Be careful ! Do not think that a dog with a wagging tail, or tongue out or "smiling" is friendly -they could be ready to attack you.

Animals do not have souls in this Supreme Universe Age; maybe in the next Master Universe Age (of maybe a trillion more years or more) they will have souls and even the sacred God-given volition (will) of a true personality of I am of I AM. We Humans here now do !

Peace and progress,
Brother Dave, a Jesusonian

of course animals have emotions, the difference lies in our ability to control our emotions by filtering them thru our intellect. But emotions come from instinct, it is a basic part of our make up as mammals. If mammalian mothers did not feel love and affection for their offspring, the species would die out. The soul, I think, is nothing more or less than the divine spark within each of us, no emotion as we recognize emotion dwells there.

Animals have souls. Emotions come from souls. But the soul is an abstract term used to describe all non-corporeal elements of personality, and is synonymous with "mind." The mind, after all, is an abstract concept that is used to describe both brain and mental/emotional processes. The soul is the same thing.

Animals, including humans, don't have souls -- the soul is a mythological concept. Emotions are chemical reactions in our brains, therefore, animals, including humans, have emotions.

Yes, our emotions are the essence of us, as in our soul.

Anyone who thinks that animals don't have souls lacks first grade intelligence.

If someone does not believe in souls at all that is a different story.

I wonder how many dummies we have here today.

Compassion is somewhat lots from our soul self. And compassion in many circumstances feels unhappiness alongside with it. in spite of the shown fact that it particularly isn't any longer a unhappiness of the small self. it particularly is from deep in the soul. it particularly is a feeling felt, yet no longer suffered from, if that makes any experience in any respect. Our real self isn't "suffering" while we adventure the frustration of compassion, it particularly is merely recognising what's and responding with a heartfelt love of great intensity and empathy. it particularly is feeling the sensation, yet no longer in my view laid low with it. Our human self may be able to adventure the overflow of this unhappiness and suffering, and characteristic distinctive or comparable reactions. i've got faith thoughts are an fundamental section people on all stages alongside with soul point. thoughts look extra to me, a variety of chemical reaction that are on a decrease point than thoughts, perchance purely felt interior the international of style. :) :) :)

I believe our emotions come from conditioning, and animals' emotions come from conditioning too...something extraneous to the 'soul'...
