I'm guessing that you got a pap smear. Pap smears are pretty accurate, and will show abnormal cells and cancerous cells. If the doctor says you don't have cancer, it is because you didn't have any cancerous cells in your pap smear. You can get a second opinion and another test from another doctor.

"Accounts for 6% of all cancers in women. A disease in which cancerous cells develop in the uterine cervixdue to a viral infection. Regular pap smears may detect abnormal changes in the cervical tissues, before cancer develops. This is due to cervical cancer having a long preinvasive stage called cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, or CIN.
Symptoms may include vaginal bleeding after intercourse or bleeding between periods. "

If you think the doctor didn't give you the accurate result. You may go to another clinic to have a check again.

PAP smear should be done every year. If you are sexually active, your chances are higher. You are encouraged to get a second opinion. But the faster the treatment, the better is the prognosis.
