You believed in Santa until you were 9?

You can never stop believing in God and no God is not some figure that stands for something like Santa.
and you can't grow without God you grow with God u grow in ur faith with God
i hope u don't follow in ur dad's footsteps
cuz i bet ur still young and u have a lot to experiance in life

Santa is real when it comes to love given to you by others at Christmas. When you gift love to other people and when you love others at Christmas time, Santa is then a reminder that God gave us love and we have that "symbol" in our life. But, God is real and if you don't believe in him create something with your own stuff. (Can't use anything on Earth) If you can do that, prepare to take it with you when you die. I'll bet you that you can't. I'll bet that most people are calling on God to help them through that death to this world gate and leave behind the gifts that Santa gave them. So to rebuttal the sad answer that your dad gave to you, God loves you and God is for real.

I think you should thank him for teaching you that we are all accountable for our actions and our bigotry rather than telling you there's some fictional sky daddy who "made" you that way. It means your Dad recognizes the juvenile futility of most religions (though it seems to be a reference to Christians, who believe their version of God is the one true one and threatened, tortured, and murdered those who didn't agree for centuries - thereby making 'God' exactly who they want him to be). Your father also understands that credit should be given where it is due, whereas most Christians believe it should all be given to themselves (oh, and yeah, God).

Thank goodness for your Dad, son!

*K For Him* - A "sick" thing? You mean like telling others they'll suffer eternal torment in hell if they don't believe what you do? Like spreading homophobic bigotry amongst their kin? I think you need to redefine the term "sick" and definitely the word "respectable".

Sounds about right.
Around age 9, I realized religion was 100% imaginary.
Wish more parents were like that. :)

I wonder who he thinks created life?

I do not believe in duality, therefore not in a devil. IF God is everywnere, there can be no evil, only free will.

You can studay and read and make your own decisions. Seems like your dad is not very happy.

respect and honor your parents, but you dont have to believe as they do. go out and learn about religions not just the christian and muslim faiths that at the moment are predomint in the news papers. if none of those apeal to you believe in something compleatly diffrent then anything ever befor it. or in nothing at all. but make an educated choice.

I don't think that was right of him to say, personally. But I do think it's good to figure out what you believe on your own and know WHY you believe it. Your dad can't tell you what to believe, only you can.
