My ex-husband has gotten 3 DWI's in the past year (all without a drivers licence so those charges all include driving with a suspended/revoked DL) this last one is concidered a 3rd degree felony and they let him out on a $5000 surity bond with a bail bondsman then he got an aditional one within the past 2weeks and they let him out on a $10,000 PR bond. he has already been indicted on the 3rd degree felony (which he didn't show up in court for) and he has an araignment for the 3rd degree felony on 8/6. so im just wondering when they will put him in jail... will it be at the arrainment/ pre trial or what?? any info?

Usually its the fourth Offense. But he's already FTA'd on the third, where is the incentive to show for the fourth? If he shows up in a courthouse for any reason and is indentified, he'll be locked up on the FTA and any additional warrants that havent been served. He'll go to jail for at least a year, Once they catch him. Has he ever gone to court ordered treatment? I was thinking in Texas that the third offense got your vehicle taken away. I may be wrong. Usually on the second offnese its mandatory alcohol treatment and assesment. Someone needds to stop bonding him out....

Most states can jail an offender on the first DUI.
Your man is going to prison, not jail.

I suggest writing to your local legislatures and senators and attending city council meetings and writing the paper. It sounds like you need to get the law makers, public, and media to realize what is going on and hopefully cause a public outcry so that something can be done about this situation before more innocent lives are lost.
