What's so virtuous about it? Not a damn thing! Otherwise you're nothing but cattle to the slaughter.

Realise that the whole concept of believing ( based on faith )was a tool used by Christianity way back in the dark ages, and its role was to make the peasants subservient to the clergy, it was the earliest form of mass mind control. I.e preach to the masses that they are nothing more than lambs and theyll usually stay "lamb like"
Back in those days the Kings ruled, then the lords and then came the peasants. They needed a way to stop the peasants from overthrowing the Kings or stop them from complaining about taxes etc...., so the bible was used along with the churches to strike fear into anyone who dared to think for themselves. There are still far too many people who have weak minds and believe everything their televangelist tells them...... these are the fools, idiots and sheeple that went out and voted for George Bush......youll find theyre mainly christian fundy morons who couldnt think themselves out of a wet paper bag. I remember as if it were yesterday when Dubyah first went into Iraq he told us he recieves direct word from God!!!.....then there were the Bush apologists in all the chat groups who were argueing that the white God is better than the Brown God....theyre still reinforcing that line of propaganda today...and sadly many people are still taking the bait and turning it into a reason to express their own racist fears and bigotry. The whole friggin world needs to grow up and get over all the bullshit but hey....what can ya do about it huh? Oh yeah dont get me wrong Im not knocking the teachings of Jesus, there is so much that is great about the bible....my point is that the teachings have been hijacked by man made religions and used as a form of mind control, whether its satan at work or not I dont know, Im agnostic.

What in the world makes you think that Christians believe without questioning? I question what I hear all the time. I left the Catholic Church after I questioned too many things and could not get any satisfactory questions.
The difference is that I also question science. Why do you believe everything you hear just because a scientist says it? Don't you think every once in a while one of them makes up a load of **** just to further their own career? It happened just a few years ago with a Chinese scientist claiming to have found fossilized feathers on some baby dinosaurs (I think they were a type of Raptor). No one proved him wrong, but a year or two later he admitted the whole thing was a hoax. How many atheists believed him without question because he had credentials?

1) God says it is a virtue and that those who have faith will be rewarded
2) Neighbors have nothing to do with it. It's between us and God
3) I never follow the crowd obviously. I don't drink, smoke, swear, or have sex- so no. I don't do peer pressure, I do what I know is right.
4) Yes. I feel right believing. I have felt God. I think His message makes complete sense. I don't need to see Him.

We are not to believe everything we hear. Even in the Bible it says to test the spirits. God is not put off when we ask or even doubt. He is more than capable to answer questions that we have.

Who , what , where when? WHo said that?
God is alright with you asking, he wants you to inquire. That's why he gave us archaeological proof. Ask him to work in your life to show you the way and truth.

What's so great about not knowing where you came from or where you are going?
God is able to make you know.
Not by intellect, but by revelation.
