I'm not an expert, but I have heard that you don't remember a dream unless you wake up during it (meaning, of course, at the end of it). In the deepest level of sleep, people move their eyes. This is called REM sleep, for Rapid Eye Movement. It's thought that people who do this are dreaming but if they wake up later they don't remember their dreams.

I find the only time I remember dreams is if I get up at 6:00 or 7:00 to go to the bathroom and then come back to bed and go back to sleep for another hour or so. Then I have dreams that I remember!

It really doesn't take a whole night to make a dream, sometimes I start dreaming as I am falling a sleep, I usually dream 4 to 6 dreams a night

Actually, you have somewhere between 6 to 8 dreams in a night. But most of the time we can not remember our dreams because of worry, stress, extreme fatigue. The more tired you are when you sleep, the less you will remember your dreams.

You actually have one dream per REM cycle. So it only takes the few minutes that you are in REM sleep. The ones you tend to remember are, like some people have said, the one where you wake up in the middle then fall asleep. I don't know why that is. But when you wake up and only remember one dream it feels like that's the only one you had and that it took all night to have it.

It doesn't. You actually dream an average of four hours for each eight hours of sleep. But most people hardly remember but one or two. I learned this when I was admitted to a sleep disorder clinic.

My dreams seem long but are actually only minutes long. I also have more than one dream each night.

I agree with Mr Knowitall, I tend to remember my dreams if I wake up and go back to sleep. I sometimes have as many as 6 dreams. If I don't move when I wake up, I can remember my dreams. If I pop out of bed, they pop out of my head.

It does not. Dream is produced during REM sleep. Usually, REM sleep occurs after ninety minutes of sleep.
