The last time I had stitches out (about 3 months ago) I also had a couple of scabs on the stitch. The night before (and morning of) I wet packed it with hydrogen peroxide to help 'soften' the scabs. The doctor can get them out even with the scabs on it. I am not a doctor, but I just went through that!
Good Luck!

They put an ointment which softens the scabs and they come off prior to removing the stitches.

call and see if the scab is ok to form....I've had stitches from biopsys. My scabs were always fine.....when it was timew to take them out they just peeled the scab back the took out the stitches...had spotting of blood but nothing bad at all. The stitches dont hurt coming out and when they peeled the scab never felt that either. Always call when your in doubt though.

I am not a medical dr., but I can guarantee that she can't take out those stitches without getting rid of that scab first. If you're unsure, you can call her medical assistant, but I think I'd soak it really well so that she doesn't have to pull hard, stuck scab off my already not happy foot.

Get to your oncology clinic or E.R. dept. immediately. They will know how to deal with the scabbing and possible continuing infection.

DONT TOUCH IT! As long as you clean and dress the wound, I am sure they will be able to still take them out....
