I suggest getting a sun-in product at the store. It'll be more gentle on your hair, and you will be to lighten it over a month or so using a hairdryer.

I used it in my hair, and even though I only used it for a few weeks, my hair had great blonde highlights for months.

The lemon juice might, might, lighten it up just a tiny bit. It isn't strong enough to make it blonde. There is no way to do temporary blonde on brown hair. You have to bleach it in some way - that is what the lemon is suppose to do but it isn't strong enough to do much. That stuff you buy, Sun In, is really pretty bad for your hair. It works but does damage the hair. I don't know how old you are - but maybe your folks will help you pay for real highlights. I made a deal with my kids when they were teenagers - if they didn't screw with their hair, I'd pay for the highlights and stuff.

I just got my medium brown hair bleached platinum blond at a salon and it cost me about $90. The salonist put a mixture on my hair, and did portions of my hair first. She also stuck me under a hair dryer for a while.
Unless you want brassy hair, you have to use a strong mixture, something from the beauty supply mart that will bleach hair and you need to activate that with heat, with your own table top hair dryer. Everything else just makes your hair brassy(orange) and that's fine if thats what you want. That stuff you buy over the counter at a discount store turns most hair brassy, not the true 'banana head' blond. After you bleach the hair you will need to tone it to the shade you want. If you want dimmension you will need more than one toner. Salons usually charge a flat fee to bleach out your hair then five or more dollars for each toner used after.

It may bring out the blonde in your hair a little, but lemon juice can really damage your hair. It can cause frizz, and dry strands. You and your friend should not try it...there are other options, like "Conair Pro Color Accents," or "Do it yourself highlights" in the hair color isle. Good Luck!

YES! My friend told me about putting lemon juice in your hair(because it is yellow) and going into the sun until your hair is completely dry..then you will have highlights that might last a few months..she even tried it..which made her hair lighter dramatically!! I wouldn't try to put lime juice in your hair just because it might turn it GREEN!!!...which I hope you don't want!!! haha...well have with your lemon juice!!!

well it wont give you blonde highlights
just lighten up your natural so it would be light brown
and its not temporary
its not like it can just wash out
its actualy lightening your hair
if you want highlights..
get em!
i was very recently thinking about getting them before school too
and i did =]
go to a professional and get them done
they really know what theyre talking about
and if you get subtle enough ones people wont even know that you got them
theyll just assume that you went to the beach [sunlight lightens your hair too]
hope this helps and good luck =]

Lemon juice is for invisible writing. Write soemthing with lemon juice and send it to a friend. The friend holds the message on top of a light bulb and the writing appears.

It gave me a few very thin highlights, but then again I didn't spend that much time with it on because bees started chasing me and I got scared and jumped into the pool.

Nope, I tried it. Unless your hair is already light it doesn't do much at all. I also tried "sun in" but it comes out orange. You will have to get a kit to do blonde. Sorry!

Lemon juice and SUNSHINE will lighten your heair, but it sin't temporary, it takes a long time to fade back to natural colors.
