Go catch some small bluegill or perch.

Hook one through the back behind the dorsal fin. Do not damage it's spine.

Use a large bobber with enough line beneath it to allow the bait to swim freely to within a couple of feet of the bottom. Use a wire leader at least 6 inches long.

I like to fish the edges of weed beds, and where channels just start to widen into open water.

When you get a strike, give it a count of 3 before setting the hook.

You'll catch more pike than muskie, but that's just how it is.

You could troll large plugs for muskie. You could also troll for walleye or other fish and once you get into a school cast for muskie. Or you could use live bait such as a perch or small walleye you catch. O yea and just to let you know a cool fact there are over 1 reported musky attack a year in Wisconsin i read that somewhere a little while ago.
