superstition? Please. You need to read up on history. Is the entire middle east a conjured-up fabrication? Herod didn't exist? Jesus?, Rome? Jerusalem?
I bet you think evolution is a fact. A LITERAL frog-to-prince fairy tale.
We were one FROGS, and given the 'kiss' of evolutionary time and chance, and POOF! We became people. Poor closed, deluded minds.
Islam and Christianity are not the same, as is different sects of the Church of Evolutionary Saints. You need to really study religion before you go off with your incredibly uneducated question. Is it really a question?

Maybe some Americans feel this way. If you are Islamic and believe what you wrote: "Isn't the monotheism of Islam more logically consistent then the Trinity poly-(disguised as mono)-theism of Christianity?", then you truly are not much different:
Your statement reveals Islam is superior to Christianity.

whaT is more RatiOnaL, beLieving in God, or a dog with a man's face??????
Edit to add: Sorry ?????, I couldn't resist.
Generally If someone is a Christian they don't believe that they are superstitious, they are followers of the risen God of the Bible and history. Both Islam and Christianity have some consistencies but the differences are irreconcilable. The concept of the trinity isn't a logical fallacy. If Christians were to say that there were three Gods in One God, that would be a contradiction. The mystery or paradox of the Trinity is there is one God in three persons.

Even atheists make laws based on their personal values. Compare the laws (values) of "Christian" countries with those of predominantely Muslim countries. Muslims will tell you that women have rights under Islam, but those rights can only be gauranteed in a Christian country, where laws are made to protect them.

............... think about this a little. The US has always been predominantly Christian, and though it was founded on the principle of freedom for all rather than just freedom for Christians, most people who live there are Christians.... And then there's the fact that Al Qaida attacked US soil and murdered thousands of people in a very gruesome and despicable manner...
What else did you think they would do hmm? They're Americans... known for their passion, their strength, and they stop at very little once they have their minds set...
They're Americans, and they aren't going to sit back and take it, whether the response was right or wrong. They're Americans, and one thing they are not is weak.

Who cares about the internal "logic" of the religion? Theology is the must useless field of human inquiry anyway, so pretending that monotheism vs. polytheism makes any difference is silly.
The proof is in the effects. Both modern religions have an awful impact on their respective societies, but only in Islamic society do we find suicide bombers, people executed en masse for belonging to the wrong sect, absolute exclusion of women from public life, etc. Even the most radical Christians don't go that far (in modern times, at least).

First of all it's not a superstition, they are both religions. Plus Christianity is not a polytheistic religion, it's just one God. It is not disguised as three, it's just one God that is formed by the Holy Spirit, Jesus and The Father. So I think because Christianity is true more people would believe it as true. Hope that answers

Simply because they are Christians. If they were muslims, they would take the other side. This is the disease of people who believe they are the best or the only right. Both groups are guilty of it.
