To me, it's more of a double-edged sword. On one hand, it gives people faith and hope to live peacefully and make amends with others. Most religions have a common ground which all is shared. From there, they took it to what deems right. Other religions end up challenging another and then that's where it leads to the other point.

Religious differences have caused wars, unsettlement and anger towards one another for simply having differences. Even worse when religion becomes blended into state and there for causing wars based on the ideology of that our religion is supreme and yours is meek. There needs to be that separation of church and state to create balance. Our 1st Amendment protects us so that people of every nationality can practice whatever religious believes they so choose. As long as it isn't hurting anyone, let them be.

Neither. People made religion, and it is neither good nor bad. The things people will do for religion can be good or bad, and some of these things affect a large group of people. But remember that the things people do using religion as an excuse doesn't mean that the things they did were God's choosing. This includes the crusades. People generally do what they want to do and when asked why say God told them to. Same thing used to happen when I was a kid with the devil: "The devil made me do it."

I believe the world would be a better place without religion in general. I've seen what the religiously oriented are capable of doing. Horrible stuff...

OR...if someone chooses to practice a religion...if they'd keep their religion, morals, ethics, etc. to themselves...and not try to integrate it into politics...and thereby forcing me to acknowledge their belief system, I'd have no problem with religion.

Unfortunately...they don't.

In general a worse place. Most religions, or should I say in-acceptance of religions start wars. It shows the difference in us when that's what we should accept. Respect. Instead it says that anyone different are outsiders and to be ridiculed and told they are wrong in their beliefs. Wars. Any one different than u should be annihilated. And because of our god we are right and we will win. Yea worse.

Of course worse. There has never been a conflict that did not begin or end with religious aggression. Even Communist lead atrocities were committed against religious believers.

Religion is the sum cause of all human suffering throughout history.

Maybe it had its place in times past and sometimes helped people, however it is undoubtedly making the world a worse place these days.

It's made thing's worse. causes too much conflict in all walks of life. Once used to rule and unite people, now it's an excuse. Hence the reason for separation of church and state, our forefathers knew.
