Although I love her, my cat seems vicious around people. What's wrong?

Either she has been treated badly in the past or she just isn't socialized to other people very well. I'm sure it's probably the second one, if you've had her since she was a kitten. She is probably just scared and that's her way of defending herself, since she doesn't know what to expect from people. This may especially be true if she is cornered. Outside cats that are scared tend to just run away. Our female cat takes vicious spells even around us when she is in heat or is scared of a noise or something.

She may have what they call Territorial disorder more common in dogs but cats can have it .It will take a lot of time and discipline from you to help her with this you may wont to ask a vet for a plan of action so as not to harm the cat mentally

Fear. Cats that have bad interactions with people usually keep that fear for a long time and if they feel cornered or not safe, they'll do what they can to protect themselves.
It may be easier on her to keep her in a closed room when others are over, just for her own peace of mind.

how old is she, Ifs she is still a kitten she will adjust. An older cat may have been mistreated and you have to be extra gentle with her

same thing with my cat.he was abandoned by his mother at about 2 weeks.they say that if a kitten is separated from his mother 2 soon they will b aggressive.that might b it.....
