Small dogs usually live to around 12 or 14. Some have lived as long as 20.

Based on what I heard from the breeder, small dogs normally live 8 years, but if neutered/spayed, they'll live 14 to 15 years or longer.

Depends on the breed, mixes tend to be healthier than pure breeds who may have been inbred for smallness or a certain look. Our dachshunds always lived to 15. Giant breeds have shorter lifespans.
