I admit I was somewhat rooting for Sergio, (Mickelson is my favorite followed by Tiger), but it was OK to see the irishmen take it. Was this his first Major win? Ive heard of him but not sure about his records.

Yes !! Neither Sergio nor Padraig had won a Major (Masters, US Open, PGA, British Open) going into the 2007 British Open.

see : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Padraig_Harrington
& http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sergio_Garc%C3%ADa

I was rooting for Sergio until Padraig got his game in gear, not rooting against Sergio at the end but hoping for Padraig. Could not have been a more exciting finish between two great golfers and two great guys. Probably lots of different world golf rankings, but Sergio was ranked 13th and Padraig 10th in the world going into the British Open at : http://www.owgr.com/rankings/default.sps

Up the Dubs !!

Geoff Ogilvy is a good one- he's often around the coolest of the leaderboard in majors. in spite of the shown fact that, i'm going out on a limb and announcing that's Sergio Garcia's year. people say that each and each year, yet this time, i think of it is going to ensue. He has a great swing- examine his coaching articles in golfing magazines... spectacular how undemanding they are (for me, a minimum of) to comprehend and carry on with. he's likewise been working no longer undemanding on his short interest. First is became the putter, yet now he's getting his chipping/pitching and sand interest around so he leaves himself shorter putts after those styles of photos. i think of he pulls it off this year. it particularly is an psychological %.. My wish %. is for Daniel Chopra to win one. As one celebrity Wars geek to a distinctive, that must be the main suitable.

It is his first Major and he did it in fine fashion. He has a website with all his stats, with the title, "Europe's #1 Golfer."
