Will defeatist "love your enemy" religious morality kill the west?

What we in the west call "morality" unfortunately comes from the religion of Christianty. What we call "right and wrong" is essentially measured against Mosaic law and Jesus pacifism (beatitudes) whether we realize it or not.

Why is this a problem? Well, we believe that "turning the other cheek" and "loving the enemy" is the highest standard. It matters not whether people follow this at all! This is viewed as the standard and thus defines a ceiling and floor of conduct.

Heres what I mean. If you believe "turning the other cheek" is the highest virtue, then even though you may not turn it competely, you wont endorse its opposite, even when it means the survival of your family!

In other words, we have a ceiling and floor to self-preserving behavior that is a thosand times more narrow than the Islamists who wish to wipe us off the map. We call it being "civilized". So did the europeans wiped out by the Barbarian Invasions.

Hate to break it to you, but those leftists are mostly Christian. I agree that they are a main part of the problem but most Americans, irrespective of political leaning, are made squimish by the same moral code.

It may. If Muslims get too crazy this country could be in for a rude awakening. One more thing like 9/11 and this country could be shattered along with many others.

I don't know about you but I'd rather live in a Communist country then one ruled by fascist Islam fundamentalists. Muslims don't enslave their enemies. They kill them.

You have a good case, but you harm it by being too extreme. In a war with the West, the Muslims have not a dog's chance and they know it. Further more we do not turn the other cheek as much as you think. We did not do so against Hitler and we do not do so in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The way the Muslims are conquering us is by mass immigration into our countries and then out breeding us there. As their numbers increase, and as they are getting more political power, the laws will be changing to accommodate more of them, and more will come in. In the end we will be engulfed. This is the real danger and our leaders are asleep.

"love your enemy" is not the problem. THe problem is the multicultural leftists who reject Western culture as imperialist and want to deny the very existence of a struggle between Islamic and Western Civilizations.

And I hate to break it to you, but most leftists are NOT christian. Some are, but those folks are tolerated by real leftists, like poor relations. You should get out more.

Well Vladimir this verse speaks about re -conciliation its not about self-defense, don't hate your enemy because he hates you, don't have the same feelings towards him. Did Jesus say your enemy can kill you and your family or take your land?
I do think American people are in state of slumber. But that has nothing to do with Christianity. People are ignorant or maybe feel too save.
