It is ok for a cat to eat meat but they do not need any other source of human food. Cats need their own nutrients. A cat in the wild will eat all meat and usually the whole carcus so that it gets all it's nutruents that way. If you want to give your cat human food, give it only meat and then go to your local pet store or a health food store and buy a food suppliment for cats and follow the directions on the jar for feeding your cat human food. It is done all the time but cats need lots of goodies we don't need like taurine for example. Without adequate levels of taurine in their diet they can get very sick. The more human food you give them as snacks, the less they will eat their cat food that is made with all the nutrients they need providing you are getting a good quality cat food for them. Rule of thumb for purchasing cat food is: cheeper is as cheeper does. Usually the cheaper cat foods have the most fillers and ask content which is harmful to your cat. Hope that helps.

Giving your cat human food will simply be asking for having a pest at dinner time. And it is also not balanced for the needs of a cat. For one thing, cats have a very short digestive system, so the commercial cat foods are formulated to give them meat and organ parts that have enzymes in them to help them digest their food. Those are often animal parts that you would never eat. Remember, in the wild they usually consume the whole animal. In addition, cats need certain nutrients that are not that common in human food. For instance, a sole diet of human-destined tuna will eventually kill the cat, while cat food tuna is supplemented with the crucial ingredient they need, which is taurine.

If you feed your cat before you eat, and discourage your cat from pestering for human food, your meal experience will be much better, and your cat will be better off.

NO!

It is okay if once a month or even less frequently you give them a piece of steak, but do not let them get into habit. The nutrition in human food is much fattier and saltier and can damage your cats health.

It will make them overweight and lead to U.T.I's and other serious diseases.

So do not let your cat eat human food.

Absolutely not. Cat food is formulated to deliver a balanced combination of nutrients designed specifically for the feline system, to ensure that all your cat's health needs are met. Not to mention that there is way too much "people food" that isn't even fit for humans, much less animals.

Nothing wrong with a cat eating meat or fish snacks w/o sauces. Chicken, fsh steak ect are all fine for snacks. If you want to feed human food all the tine though it has to be specially prepared as ingrediants have to be added like taurine for example

Only if you are using a good recipe and adding the vitamins your cat needs to be healthy. Look online for homemade cat food recipes and look for vitamin additives from a pet healthfood store.

Generally, a snack of cheese, plain yogurt, steamed veggies or unseasoned meat won't hurt.

It is not good to feed them people food. Most food is not good for their systems. Occasionally as a treat it may be ok, but certain foods can be poisonous to cats.
Avoid these thihngs:
Alcoholic beverages
Chocolate
Coffee
Grapes and Raisins
Moldy or spoiled food (of course!)
Onions, Garlic and Chives
Poultry bones
Salt and salty foods
Tomato leaves, stems, and unripe fruit
Yeast dough
