Ok I'm not going to exaggerate. But I have been keeping a strict record of my food and exercise since June 22. So today is a complete month.

I got to the gym twice everyday for 30 min on the eliptical each time. I do a manual workout in the morning. and Hills at night. I do this 6 times a week for a total of 6-8 hours of cardio.
I do 1 weight lifting and 3 ab workouts a week.

I eat 5 small meals a day, no carbs after 4 and no food at all after 7. Drink at least 5 water bottles a day and only drink diet soda. No juice too much sugar. and fat free creamer in my coffee.

My husband is very health conscious so there is no junk food in our house. the most "junk food" I have is an apple with Peanut Butter on it or chocolate in my skim milk before bed.

I CANNOT LOSE THE WEIGHT. I am 5'5 and weight 210. Size 18 all i want is to be a size 10. What else can i do?

I am really starting to lose heart.

I answered this standadr answer several times per day BUT its a GREAT ANSWER: Whats wrong with alternating walking and running? You should target 4 miles per hour rate as minimum speed- (work you way up to it, and do it for 30 minutes 4 X a week and then do weights twice per week. You don't need hours.

For a food plan, I would suggest several things:Go to www.mypyramid.gov. Put in your specifics (age, gender, height, normal weight or the weight you wish to be, activity level, etc) and you get the food you are supposed to be eating daily and weekly (it gives you both, and you balance by the week).

One thing I make sure is to have at least 21 servings of fruit and 21 servings of veggies around every week. Three of each everyday- Thats a combination of fresh, frozen, canned. That with a couple of servings of good protein per day (I do love fish, I'm having honey glazed salmon tonight) , and grains and dairy (I love cheese). The only foods I consider BAD are chips and fries. There is room for everything in moderation in a healthy food plan. I eat several small meals and I eat after 7 PM.

I am 5'5' also but today I weighed 117- I weigh 1X per month the last Sunday of the month. I wear a size 2-4. I am constantly told to get fat! I will help you get to a reasonable weight - send me an email.

Don't worry so much about what the scale says. Keep the routine going and possibly take a diuretic because it may just be water retention. You have plenty of time to lose the weight. Keep eating right and exercising and even when you are just sitting at home, try to do things that keep you going like laundry, vacuuming, and cleaning up which are great at burning calories. You know the old saying "a watched pot never boils". It's kind of the same with the scale, so just stay off of it and wait until you see the difference in mirrors before you have to go find a number for the weight.

I'd suggest going to the gym only once per day. Do some type of cardio 5-6 days per week for 30-60 minutes at a time. Try to vary your routine- switch between elliptical, treadmill, rowing, bicycle or whatever you enjoy. Also some days should be longer but less intense and other days shorter but more intense. The key is variety and to constantly challenge your body in new ways. Also do strength training 2-3 days per week with a day of rest between sessions. Eat a balanced diet with plenty of whole grain carbs (your main energy source), high quality protein, fruits and vegetables. Your water intake should be 1/2 ounce for every pound of body weight. Try to gradually eliminate the soda from your diet would also be helpful.

Maybe the exercise you're doing is not burning enough kcals. Do you have a slow or a high heart rate durin the exercise? Aerobical exercises burn a lot more calories, but be sure to have some "difficulty" in it, therwise your body just gets in use to it and starts burning less calories.

If nothing is working then it must be that your metabolism is nt helping. Try to go to a nutritionist or a personal trainer to check that out. Some people struggle a lot to lose weight because their metabolism is too slow.

how many calories are you taking in per day? 5 meals a day, but what are in those 5 meals? are you taking vitamins? diet matters more than exersice when losing weight. i think the problem is you diet. why arent you eating carbs after 4? this means your body has to use protien for fuel. fat is the last thing used for energy. eat carbs with every meal. unless your on a ketogenic diet. email me if you need more info. i would be happy to help.

You could try speeding up your metabolism. Eat six to seven small meals a day 0r alternately, try to eat something every 2 to 3 hours. Or you could try adding some hot peppers or chilli flakes to your meals-this would definately speed up your metabolism. If nothing works it could be down to a hormomal imbalance, if this is the case you should check it out with your gp or naturopath. Good luck!
