go to http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and fill out the fafsa right away. this is the free application for federal student aid. since your daughter is 25, she will be considered an independent student. she will need her tax forms from last year and a little time to fill out the application.

the application asks what schools you want your student aid report sent to. make sure wku is listed on her application. this will allow them to see what the federal government thinks she can afford to pay towards her education. the school will send her an award letter. this may be a combination of grants, loans, work study, and whatever other funds the college has to pull from. she does not have accept all the aid that is offered. if she wants money that is not to be paid back, advise her to take grant and scholarship dollars but not loans. if she doesn't mind working and qualifies, have her visit the schools student employment website and apply for jobs.

student jobs are great because education is still the main priority for the departments that hire students. they work around the students class schedule and tend to be more understanding when it comes to term papers and exams. if she doesn't qualify for federal work study, student jobs are not completely out of the question. most schools have a second pot of money that can pay students for these same jobs (they have a different name: learn and earn, student employment funds, etc.). these jobs are also listed on the student employment website.

if loans are going to be necessary to fund her education, stick with the federal loans. they are both subsidized and unsubsidized. the subsidized loans have the interest paid by the government until the student graduates. unsubsidized loans accrue interest and it just goes back into the principle of the loan. federal loans are guaranteed by the federal government and do not require a cosigner. the interest rate is also capped on these loans.

since she is independent, she will qualify for both loans. the more credits she has completed, the more money she can take out in loans.

congratulations on raising a daughter that wants to give back to society!

usually since you have been excepted into thenursing program the financial office could tell you what loans you can apply for. I know you have to apply to FAFSA you have to apply on line for that first the web site is FAFSA.GOV because the financial aid office will ask you did you fill out that application before any body will approve you for a loan

attempt to no longer problem approximately what your pal is going to do, in the event that they circulate with you it is super yet you may circulate besides if that's what you prefer to do, you will make friends very at as quickly as in any respect so which you wont be by myself for long. As for the lone, specific use it to pay for college - see you later as you learn difficult and get solid grades out of it the mortgage would be worth what you get out of the college in the long-term. attempt to get an element time pastime nevertheless to repay your different money owed, attempt to maintain the two separate - your present day money owed and your pupil mortgage for college.

Check with the financial aid office at the school. They all have them and the offices have more information than you need.
