If you are 14 you should be subject to your mother.
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother"—which is the first commandment with a promise— "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." "
Ephesians 6:1-3

With regards to your own though process in the matter, one verse that comes to mind is Romans 12:1-2

1"So here's what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. "

From "The Message" Bible

Technically? No.
Leviticus 19:28 seems to speak of marks, piercings, and tattoos in a worship of the dead. But if you are born again, then that is not the case.

The larger issue, however, is that you are 14.
Your Mum loves you, and out of respect for her, you should put the desire aside.
Peer pressure is just something of the flesh.

A born again Christian can do whatever they want because of the freedom in Christ but they choose to be pure and Holy because of the hope that is within them. I could drink as much alcohol as I want but I choose not to drink any of it. In my opinion, piercings are a sign of insecurity, a desire to be part of a tribe, set apart from the others. Your home is in heaven, so act like it. You can respect your mom without believing the legalistic religious lies she's telling that contradict the Word of God. However, you should respect your mom, tell her your not going to get your ear pierced out of respect for her wishes but read the Word, get understanding and share with her that you have great freedom in Christ.

I think you need a better answer from you mom. The only thing I can think to support her claim is the idea that vanity is a vice and one of the seven deadly sins. But then why even wear one ear ring?

Of course in God's top ten list there is the commandment to honor your father and mother.

Still I think it might be a good idea to have the principle she is following explained so you can follow it as well.

I am a mother of two grown sons and I can respectfully say that you are still under your mother's guidance and if she is totally against it; then maybe you should abide by her rules. When you get at that age where you can make this decision on your own, then it would probably be wise to wait. I told both of my sons I would not pay for a tattoo, that when they were old enough to work and they still wanted a tattoo then they could get one, but this was when they were older, around about 17 to 18 years of age. Besides when you get to that age and you make this decision to pierce your body, please pray and ask God to inform you through His word or let you know for sure that it is ok, with Him, because your body is His temple in which you represent. My convictions are not your convictions, so please listen to God, He will not fail you.

Just a question for your mom.. Why would she let you get it done the first time? It sounds like she is trying to use the word of God to justify her thoughts on the second. In short.. It was back in the day a tribal thing to get it done. It let people know which tribe teachings you followed. Some churches today still frown upon it because it is used to glorify self not God.

Piercing ears has nothing to do with being a christian, or being Godly. We are saved by Gods grace. You do however, need to respect your mother and her wishes for you. Talk to her in a respectful manner, and she might change her mind. Good luck!!

It's not bad to get a second ear pierce, but it IS bad to disobey your mom. Wait until you grow up and then you can get as many piercings as your little heart desires.

In the end, when it comes down to it, how do you think getting another piercing will affect your relationship with God? Think about it before you make any decision. You might also want to try praying and seeing if He gives you any advice that way.

You should be allowed to exercise freedom of choice, yes, but since your Mom is your Mom, you probably should try not to make her too mad, at least while you have to live with her. ;-)

Your mother is being silly. Christianity has nothing to do with the number of ear piercings you have...

However you should try to respect her wishes while living in her house.
