I have 2 kittens who are sisters and we got them at the same time from someone giving them away. However, one of them chews on a stuffed animal I have and at the same time like claws it with her paws (like she's fluffing it or something). Was she taken from her mother too soon? We've had them since around February, so it's been awhile since they've been with their mom and only our one kitten does that. I was just wondering why and if there is anything we can do for her to make her stop? Thanks!

It's probably your kittens way of playing. Young cats especially like to chew and claw at things. My cats did.

By the way, that is called kneeding. Cats do it to get comfortable. Mine always do this before they lay down to take a nap. You should get her a scratching post, or maybe get her declawed, if it bugs you so much. You should try telling them "no" if they do something bad.

If she's patty pawing it with her feet, that's what kittens do with their mother when they feel relaxed and comfortable. If she's clawing it and kicking, she's practicing hunting techniques.

Cats use three techinques---

Bird (tossing things up and then grabbing at them)
Mouse (pouncing and biting, carrying it around)
Rabbit (body blocking it, falling over on their side and kicking with the hind legs while clutching hard with the front feet and biting)

It's all play in anticipation of living a cat's life.

They would do that when they are feeding on the mother. Normally they all do that though for play or to just stretch out. Get the kitten some chew toys so that It can play with that.

specific - delight in them :) The defend will neuter/spay, provide pictures, and so on yet you ought to take the kittens on your vet with the workplace work and have your vet do a speedy examination to be certain they're ok. Plan on doing this interior of a few days of bringing them living house. once you don, confine the kittens in one room with meals, water, clutter pan and shop them in there till you're supervising them. Kittens under 4 months old should not be allowed to be working with the aid of the living house w/ supervision. they ought to have a secure place so which you do no longer want to easily turn them loose as quickly as you walk interior the door.

Your kitten might be growing new teeth and they like to sharpen their claws on things so they can become sharper. Sometimes they do stuff for fun tho too!
