depends, my ex use to tell me, "whenever you look for trouble you ll find it" but thats why hes my ex. lol it makes me sad depending on what happen.( i hate hearing bout death of ppl or animals) gossips you tend to believe before knowing the truth then you seen to maybe lost who could of been close friend. most of the time it gets on my nerves and i rather not know, i want them to keep the trash amongest themselves even if it is true. i guess i would perfer to be ignorant.

This is a philosophical question that has been around for ages. (At least since my college days, which were quite some time ago)
After years of life experience I have concluded that ignorance is bliss. The problem is that the bliss does not last very long. Someone used the example of poisoned soup. For a few moments, one may have been blissfully enjoying the best soup they ever had.
EDIT
It also occurs to me, the very nature of ignorance (true ignorance, not the choosing of not knowing which is a whole other discussion) is that one does not know. A wife whose husband is effectively hiding his extra-marital affair, has no knowledge of it or reason to think she should seek such knowledge. Of course her bliss immediately turns to devastation when she learns the facts.

Ignorance is not bliss, and there are plenty of things that can hurt you if you are not informed.
Take one example: If you have a car, you know that it needs maintenance and that things sometimes go wrong. If a strange noise suddenly starts or other strange symptoms show up, you wouldn't just ignore them until the car broke down on the highway. You would check out if there is a problem.

Complete ignorance isn't recommended, but sometimes not knowing can make things easier. There's some truth to the saying what you don't know can't hurt you, like knowing who doesn't like you, or not informing someone that their present is awful. True there are certain situations where you want to know at least something, but also times where you're better off not knowing.
It's surprising sometimes just what people don't know about what's happening around them. Ignorance can definitely be the better option at times.

George Orwell posits the idea that not necessarily ignorance is bliss but ignorance is strength '1984'.It helps to maintain and coerce a whole mass of people in a utopian society.

I don’t think ignorance is bliss,
But I sometimes prefer to forget some stuff just to enjoy my time (alcohol helps a lot that way: D)
But in general knowledge is power

In most cases, no. I do not believe ignorance is bliss in regard to current events in politics and health. On the other hand, in certain cases in one's personal life, it's better not to know some things.

I belive that ignorence can be a bliss up to a degree. If the truth is too painful to acept then its ok to belive in a lie. Like morphose said in the movie "the matrix" " how do you define reality?

If you want to know what it's like, watch a three-year-old. Lucky little people, they are just so happy. You only prefer to know what's going on because you know there is more. If you were ignorant, you wouldn't even consider that there was more than you already know. Does that make sense?

Sometimes it is bliss to remain ignorant, specially if your spouse is cheating on you. What you don't know, doesn't hurt. And sometimes ignorance is a curse, specially when you need to know the answer to a question.
