YES. They pretend as if ISLAM is a new religion, when in fact it has existed for fourteen centuries and has total dominion across many nations. Most if not all minorities in these vast regions still exist across the centuries and have not only survived but thrived under the rule of Islam.
Today secular nations such as Egypt are the ones where the people of other faiths are being attacked or persecuted. One never knows who the terrorists really are.
Anyone can shout Allahu Akbar. Anyone can be brain washed into not believing in the true teachings of our prophets.
In my personal view the terrorists are being supported by the enemies of Islam to give Islam a bad name and the news media is designed to take full advantage of this fact.
First terrorists are created by unjustly bringing wars to people who are living their lives in peace, such as in Chechniya and Bosnia and Palestine. Then opportunities are provided to those who have gone berserk with pain and suffering to turn into terrorists by providing them resources and abilities to attack others. Their leaders in my view are in the hands of the enemies of Islam, who attack anyone that the enemies of Islam want to bring to their side.
Thus if you wish to bring a country against Islam, you can actively launch the terrorists against that country and change popular opinion in such a country against Islam.
Ultimately this is building up to the planned destruction of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. But, I believe the Lord Almighty has some tricks up his sleeve as well!!

Well all I can say is 'duh'. Of course the media exaggerates when it comes to Muslims. Statistics have been shown that in the past 5 years, thousands more of Palestinians have died in the Palestine-Israel conflict than Israelis. American media always seems to report on the suicide bombs that take place but not once do they mention how the Israeli troops randomly kill innocent civilians and the bombs that Israel drop on Palestine. Also, Fox news is pathetic. On YouTube there is a video of Fox news bellyaching over how Muslims in an American school are allowed to pray in a classroom as if it is harming anyone. Let me give all you Americans some advice, if you want to learn about Islam read the Quran and go to Muslim scholars. Don't go to Fox news or CNN to learn about Islam. Don't go to Fox news or CNN to learn about the Muslims. Go to the Muslims to learn out about the Muslims. Don't go to Fox news or CNN to find out how a Muslim woman feels. Go to a Muslim woman to find out how a Muslim woman feels. Making a judgement on Muslims or Islam by what you see on Fox news, CNN, NBC or any of those other biased networks is a very inaccurate judgement.

Of course, how else would the story be so interesting? and people are stupid enough to believe it. Did most people ever know what a Muslim was before it was put into mainstream?

The media has no right reporting on Islamic violence...dont they know that this reflects poorly on Islam?
They should ignore the fact that almost all armed conflicts worldwide are Islamic.
If the refuse to ignore this fact, they should keep in mind how many journalists are murdered by Muslims in the name of Allah.

I have to agree with you. I am an American convert to Islam and I am alarmed with how inaccurate the media is most of the time.

No, it seems as if their very explosive rage has done enough on it;s own.
No offense intended, but c'mon, everytime you turn on the news, some Islamic radical has blown himself or something up somewhere.

I think Islam did that to itself over the last 1400 years with its tyrannical and barbaric leaders and practices; the form they usually refer to Arabic/Radical fits this profile.
