I feel it is past time for all humans to forget god and Jesus and move to a higher level of self confidence. What has Jesus done for the world lately? You may imagine he has helped you, but he seems to be very bigeted against anyone who does not genuflect. Elimininate Jesu, Allah, Yahweh, etal and the world will be a very loving and peaceful place place to raise children.

I do not agree that the world would be "a very loving and peaceful place to raise children" without "religion." After all, our laws originated from the bible and a sense of wrong-doing (our sub-conscience) is what keeps us (or at least most of us) from committing crime. If not for the teachings of the Bible, who would say what's right and what's wrong? Right and wrong would be open to individual interpretation.
I agree that there is far too much "religion" in the world but there is a big difference between religion and true Christianity. The violence you see may stem from religion but is certainly not Christianity. The problem is that everyone thinks "their" religion is "the" religion ... and none of them are right. How do I know? Because any religion that goes against the teachings of God is a false religion. The murdering and violence is certainly against God.
Forget Jesus? I think that's the problem we are facing now; too many people have already forgotten him.

Well I wouldn't say dump religion and move on but come on Jesus is getting boring. When was the last time he even did stuff for the world, like 2000 years ago. We don't even know if the guy ever existed. I'm still decideing on what religion I want to go with

I think if we eliminate any sort of religion, the world would not be a very loving and peaceful place to raise children.
Look at all of the murderers, serial killers,etc.
Do you think that abolishing religion would change the evil in the world? I don't.

No I dont think so because for some of us it has been the reason why we haven't killed ourselves yet. When you loose everything and are alone in the world the only thing you got left is your religion and faith. If people descided to quit believing a lot of them would loose the will to live.

Eliminate God, eliminate objective morality. Then you and I can say that peace and war are the same. Who is anyone to say different?

You've got to be kidding, right? Do you think everything that is happening in the world can be attributed to a belief in God? Do drug dealers believe in God? Do rapists believe in God? Do school shooters believe in God?Do cop killers believe in God? Do teachers who sexually abuse children believe in God? Do parents or step parents who torture and maim their children believe in God? Loving? Peaceful? What planet are you talking about?

It's not going to happen, religion has existed since the beginning of mankind, it's not likely to go away anytime in the near future, and I would be surprised if it ever left at all.

Religion is the most bizarre thing on this earth and proves there is no limit to human stupidity. The more civilized and advanced we become the weaker the hold of religion will become on this blinded, deluded planet.
