No, I certainly wouldn't. Though I am not gay myself, I would not vote for anyone who openly hates ANY minority.

There is a distinct difference between hating the person and hating the sin. The Bible teaches that homosexuality is a sin and, consequently, we believe the open acceptance of homosexuality including the formation of explicit "Gay Rights" has no place in our country's laws. However, no Christian should hate the people themselves, even if they do not respect us in return.

If a candidate was to make a point of attacking homosexuals as part of his/her main platform, I might have doubts about my interest in supporting them. I consider this more applicable to the pulpit. However, if the candidate merely states support for not expounding on homosexual rights including a stance against gay marriage and gay adoption, I would respect it as their integral stance.

As I believe homosexuality is no more a sin than heterosexual infidelity, stealing, coveting, lying or even murder and that God sees all sins in the same light I find that those practicing homosexuality should not be discriminated in their everyday life including work, sports & school. However, I believe that churches and other organizations could choose to exclude openly practicing homosexuals on the basis that they do not share the same moral values. This might include excluding homosexuals from teaching in private schools supported by religious organizations.

As regards marriage and adoption, the biggest blow to America today is the disintegration of the traditional family. While I understand the argument made by Gay Rights Activists that many gay couples would make good parents might have some merit, I do not believe substituting this is acceptable and more effort should be made to renew traditional values, especially the institution of the family.

If the candidate was standing on this platform, they would entice my vote (depending on the other issues).

i'm a heterosexual Christian so i won't be able to speak for gay human beings, even though it style of feels to me the circulation for gay human beings to be waiting to marry and do the extremely some different issues that others take with none attention has suffered some severe setbacks as of previous due - alongside with the defeats of lots of the marriage ammendments in different states. So, it style of feels to me, that like all different consituent team, they are making their voices heard by making use of protesting what they do in contrast to - and because Warren is an outspoken critic of gay marriage he's the objective. From what I understand there became additionally a remark the place he in comparison gay human beings to pedophiles, yet i did no longer see what he reported, so i won't be able to remark on it. What a great style of people do no longer understand is that Rick Warren has truthfully been getting a great style of flack from evangelicals for chatting with Obama in any respect - he continued a great style of grievance in the process the marketing campaign because of this. Rick Warren is extremely very center of the line - he would not have self assurance in gay marriage, nor could he as a Christian preacher. He represents the church and the bible and he could be consistent in that. yet he's not any the place close to as radical or illiberal (i.e. the human beings who delay the signs and indicators asserting "God hates f*gs") as many others. i think of he's a sturdy determination. we will see how issues play out over right here few weeks.

I can not condone either "hate" or "homosexuality".

If the office of the presidency of the USofA is to be won on a single issue, we are in worse shape than even I thought!

The fact that a candidate stood up on his or her beliefs rather than crumble under the pressure of being politically correct would get my attention for sure.

I expect the candidate who gets my vote to have opinions and beliefs that are similar to my own. It just so happens that I do not support gay marriage.

I also do not have hate in my heart towards someone who is , or who thinks differently than I . Any candidate openly proclaiming "hate" would disqualify themself.

No. I would not. There are no good reasons to hate Gays. They are just as likely to be saved as anyone else. And I am not going to think that a person who hates Gays has a firm grasp of "Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you."
(Romans 12:3)
Nor would such a person recognize the need to get the Gospel out to those who desire it's coming, or that the devil has worked his way into the Christian mindset and theology and seeks to gain a foothold on the Gospel message: To drive a wedge between the truth and those who would turn to it.

Would I vote for a non-Christian to be President?

Probably not.

Now I might vote for someone who just pretended to be a Christian and really hated groups of people for one reason or another in their heart.

No. I am Christian and I don't hate gays. I think you shouldn't hate people for being gay if you disagree with it. I just ignore it.

no because even though God told us not to be gay he also told us to never lie so i think it is immoral to hate another person or group just because they chose a different sexuality!
