I woke up yesterday morning with a very stiff neck. To put it lightly, it hurts like hell!!! I can't turn my head to the right very far.

Any remedies?

This is the second day of it... HELP

This could be anything from a muscle spasm to meningitis to cervical vertebra damage.

Try a mild analgesic/anti-inflammatory (e.g., tyleol, aleve, ibruprofen) coupled with alternating ice and heat. If you have no relief by tomorrow morning, a trip to the doc is in order.

Hang in there,

p.s. If you also have a fever, there is no time to waste. Straight to the doc. NOW.

Apply hot and cold packs alternatively for 10 mins. You will have considerable relief. Rest your neck. Dont use a large pillow. Roll a towel and place it under your neck when you sleep on your back. Take a pain killer pill.
Go to your doctor or take an x-ray to see if you are having cervical spondylosis.

apply a Moist heating pad to your neck for twenty minutes. This will help loosen the muscles. Afterwards apply an analgesic cream. Use Advil capsules, four times daily for the pain. You really need to see a chiropractor tomorrow to get immediate relief.

Call the doctor ASAP. There are very serious illnesses with that symptom, better to be safe then sorry.
