To see all of those children lined up to buy a book? Not a movie, not a video game , but a book. And a 759 page book at that. Wow. It just makes me feel good to know that there are so many young people who still love and care about reading.

KJV-Harry Potter is fantasy fiction. Fiction. It has nothing to do with Wicca, real Witchcraft or satanism. As for never shopping at your bookstore again, I'm sure they won't miss you. I doubt you've moved beyond the Dick and Jane level.

Yes, it did. And I noticed that while they were waiting as patiently as they could manage for the midnight start of actually selling the book, they were sitting all over the bookstore reading and looking at other books. Once they get hooked on reading, they stay hooked. That's one of the many great things about the Potter series, along with a serious interest in the moral values and the thinking that clearly goes into these stories. I mean, these kids have long, complicated arguments about the meaning of small details, the way we used to about the Lord of the Rings long before it was made into a movie. They are exercising their brains, which I applaud heartily.

Yes, that is what I said when the first ones appearred years ago. Shw was a good author. The right blend of Horatio Alger, Tarzan and Orel and Hardy. I was a bit disappointed in the toys and movies though because those things steal from the imagination.

As a middle school language arts teacher, I'm thrilled with the Harry Potter series and the enthusiasm toward it. Anything that gets kids to read is okay with me.

The author of Harry Potter will have a lot of explaining to do when she stands before the Lord on judgment day to answer for the crimes of witchcraft and for teaching others so. It is sick to see so many children going after this satanic woman's books, and the stupid and foolish parents who let their children get involved with this should be horse whipped and have their children removed. I went into a Barnes & Noble bookstore yesterday and ALL of the employee were dressed up like Hogwart witches and they had a harry otter party and held a satanic ritual right there in the bookstore! I will NEVER shop there again. I used to be in Wicca, and it is NOT innocent, it is NOT "white magic". It is 100% sold out to Satan. SICK!

I was at Costco to get my copy ($18) and practically every person in the check-out line had a copy.
One person had 30 copies. I asked. She said she had a small book store and it was cheaper for her to get it at costco than from the publisher.

yes. although my kids have always been into reading, most kids aren't. and to see them so excited about a huge novel like this, is really a great thing. too bad so many christians are so against it.
