I lost a lot of weight, I used to be fat, now I'm skinny. And it seems like suddenly hard chairs and other furniture are now uncomfortable. Yesterday I rode the train for 2 hours, and today my butt is hurting! Does being skinny make things more uncomfortable?

You no longer have the fat padding between your hip bones and the chair. So the bone is pressing on your muscles and nerves causing pain.

Fatty tissue insulates you, and when you sit down on a hard surface it acts as a cushion. The more you have, the less you feel the actual seat.

If you lose weight, its losing some of that "cushion", so now you feel the seat itself a little more. But once you get used to it, its not bad at all, especially considering how much healthier you are and feel. A small sacrifice in my opinion.

Your body fat was providing natural padding for you butt. Now you dont have that extra padding which results in pain for you. I feel your pain, but try to move around and never sit for more than an hour in the same position. Try to get up and move around to keep blood flowing to your lower body.

No,but the additional fat used to prevent you from feeling properly but the main reason is that you are probably weak or unfit once that is sorted life will have less pains.

The chairs do not feel uncomfortable. It's your butt that feels pain and discomfort.
I hate that. I speak from personal experience.
